Trygve is 4 months old and having troubles napping. He wakes up after 45 minutes asleep as he is transitioning into the next sleep cycle but does not know how to put himself back to sleep. He is still tired but works himself up so much that he won't go back to sleep. He is swaddled still and needs to be, trust me! Any tips on how to get him back into a good sleeping pattern? Thanks!

i feed him right before he goes down. think i might start cereal in the morning to see if that helps. it helped him sleep better at night!

There was no way I could have survived my son's infancy without his swing!! It was the only way he took a nap! Good luck hun!

DS2 is also 4 mos and only naps 2 times a day for 30 - 45 minutes. He then goes to sleep around 8pm and sleeps till 5am. We add rice cereal to his bottle its 1 tsp for every oz. of formula/breast milk. Good Luck

4 months is a super common age for this to happen. Both my boys were terrible catnappers up until about 6 months old. I tried everything....white noise, swaddling, rocking back to sleep, putting them down earlier, putting them down later...in the end nothing really seemed to help. All of a sudden one day they were just able to sleep longer on their own. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I just wanted you to know that it is totally normal.
