I went on the pill at 17 bc of painful periods. My dad had a hard time with it even though I wasn't sexually active he was afraid I would feel like it was "permission" to be sexually active. Once I convinced him how miserable I was and he let me try it my life became so much better! Dad's never understand b/c they don't go through it, but it was important to me and my life.
I would see if she can just have that visit with her primary who she knows instead of a gyno, as long as the primary is female and can explain everything they do....it's still uncomfortable for me even after childbirth.

I think that's exactly why DH doesn't want her to be on it.
We really need to revisit this topic!

She was 11 when she got her first period and I just thought that was a little young for the gyno. I think she'll be more ready now. Some of her friends are on the pill now.

I also say bring her in. BC pills aren't just for BC. I was prescribed them in High school because I used to get cysts on my ovaries. Saying that I also understand your hubby's view. I think being a dad is tough when you have daughters. Also knowing what she has already gone through he is probably scared for her to be sexually active. Dad's never want their girls to grow up.

She got her period yesterday and needed her Dad to go and get her tampons! That was NOT what he wanted to do! He gave her the money and waited in the car! I told him that I need to take her to the dr and get put on the pill. That she is in just too much pain every month. He stopped, looked at me and kinda shook his head and walked away. I'm just going to do it. He doesn't need to be on board!
