I am only 4 1/2 weeks pregnant but I am soo tired all the time I can hardly stay awake. I feel like I am barely functioning at all. My first two were not like this, I wasn't tired until the last trimester even.
Anyone else deal with this amount of tiredness this early? What can I do?! I won't drink any caffeine in early pregnancy so I am at a loss for what to do.
Thanks!

I could of slept all day with both my pregnancies during the first tri! Maybe it's a girl I would nap any chance I got. Maybe a little exercise might help wake you up a little?

Take your vitamins, Hannah. Especially Vit D. And you're pregnant, of course you're going to be tired! Your body is taking all of your energy for a new life!

water, prenatals, and exercise... and napping, though sometimes that doesn't even work lol I think a big thing will be to talk to dh and tell him that you have been feeling fatigued and see if he'd be willing to pick up the slack on some chores, maybe let you rest a little extra on the weekends etc.

oh, and don't ever skip breakfast! Something with good protein in it will help

The first trimester has always been the worst for me, but then I get some energy back around the second trimester. Hopefully that will happen for you. And definitely nap when you can and go to bed early.

I am taking vitamins and napping when I can...sadly the nap doesn't even touch the tiredness level. This is just weird to me because my first two pregnancies I wasn't fatigued at all the 1st trim. Maybe I will try walking more...if only it weren't so blasted hot outside!

Yep, when I was pregnant with DD I was extremely tired. I was only 4 weeks along when I found out I was pregnant and about a week before I found out I was sooo tired, going to bed at 6pm and sleeping all night long. It was insane but did get better the farther I got into my first trimester Sent from my Desire HD using proboards

Congrats on your pregnancy and hope it is a girl. I remember being tired during my pregnancy when my iron levels were low. I had to supplement with Floradix, a plant based source of iron. My traditional midwife (we delivered both children at home) stressed the importance of protein in pregnant woman's diet (100 g per day, which is a LOT but possible to accomplish).

Ahhh yes. they joys of pregnancy. I was really tired all the time with this one too. So maybe it is a girl BUT - try and get some exercise in...even though you're exhausted. A few more weeks and you should be feeling a little better. I agree with Sarah too, ask hubby to help out a bit more since you are so tired. Making a baby is a lot of work! Just try not to over exhaust yourself!

I agree eliza and getting your iron levels checked, not sure if tyroid issues could do that also? But just remember that your body is going through pretty drastic changes now and the work your insides are doind make your feel tired on the outside? maybe? It is also natural to feel this way for many nearly pregnant people by the sounds of things.
