wondering if any of you have ever had it done...and if it helped at all? I want to ask my doctor to do it today at the appointment, but before I do I wanted to see if it has really made an impact on anyone else.
TIA!

No experience but I would think it was worth a try!

I've just heard it can be pretty painful, cause contractions, etc. BUT - I'm already in pain, I'm already having contractions, and I'm totally ready to have this baby. So that is what I'm thinking, that it's at least worth a shot. If baby isn't ready, she's not ready but I can at least give that a go right?

I had it done, twice, with my second. It caused some slight cramping for me, but didn't move me any faster towards labor. I wasn't as progressed as far as you were, though, so it may make a difference. I don't remember the process being painful, however, I did bleed a little afterwards.

Had it done for both for dd1 it did nothing and dd2 it might have started labor because when i went in to be induced I was at a 4 a week later.

actually yes... she stripped mine at that last appt. with Preston, and then did that buzzing thing... I have to think that that helped because I wasn't dialated and hardly effaced at that point and then had him the next morning.

I had it done with DS1. I started having contractions shortly after the appt and gave birth the next morning! I was only dilated 1 cm so I think it worked.

It can hurt like crazy!!! Be careful though because it can cause false labor too which is what happened with my first. I had it done with my second one as well and I don't remember if it put me into labor right away but it hurt sooooooooo bad.

Mine didn't hurt from what I remember... but I have a high pain tolerance!! Could be how gentle your doc is too?

My doc goes hardcore with it I guess. He told me if it doesn't hurt they didn't do it right.

I had it done with my 1st I beleive, it caused cramping in my stomach but didn't help progress anything.

Well, I won't say it WASN'T painful, but in the scope of labor, etc....it was nothin. I've had a lot of cramping and contractions for sure, but when she did it it felt more like just having a lot of pressure with some pain. I'd be a little scared if I had your doc I think Hannah lol
