My 4 YO is sick today. Boooooo. We were supposed to go to the pool, enjoy a last day of summer etc. and now it's a no go. Today is a day off for me (I work 3 days a week) so we had planned for a last hurrah before the pool closes. I work tomorrow and we're out of town this weekend so this was our last in-town summer day to play. Ah well, whaddya do?
Anyway, apparently there's something going around. My BF's kids have this too -- high fever (originally 103) and the kids just feel blah. Not much appetite, a bit of a sore throat.
The up side is that since I'm forced to stay home today, I'm getting stuff done. I'm making home made spaghetti sauce for the first time in my life so we'll see how that goes. (Anyone have some tips? Not sure what I'm doing.) I had some ripe bananas so made banana bread. Started a load of laundry. Next up will be a little quiet time and then I need to clean the house. It's actually DH's week to clean, but he's got a crazy insane week (working 50+ hours) so I feel like the least I can do is help him out and take some of that "to do list" off his plate.
OK, so that's it from here! Just wanted to kind of vent, kind of chat about those days when you're stuck at home with a sick kiddo!

I've had days like that. DS1 was sick last Friday. He's 7 so I just put him in the bedroom with the TV. He just laid around all day. I couldn't get anything done since I kept DS2 home as well. Why pay for daycare if I have to be home.

My DS2 had that last week, too. Hit him out of nowhere. I hope that yours gets to feeling better soon. No fun feeling icky when it's so nice out.

I'm just crossing my fingers that the 7YO doesn't get it. 'Cause then our Labor Day weekend plans will be crossed off, and I'd hate for her to have to miss the first day of school. But this is one of those things where you just have to shrug and say--it's out of my hands and is what it is. Gotta be patient.

We just had the same thing go through our house. DD had it Friday and by Sunday was back to 100% and received a call on Monday to pick up DS with the same thing. I'm glad to just get it out of the way prior to school. We get enough other germs home once school is in session. Hope yours in feeling better soon and doesn't impact your weekend plans.

My DD has the same thing. Hit her Sunday, and she seems to finally have broken the fever. I feel so bad because she missed the 1st day (and now 2nd day) of kindergarten. She has not been sick from daycare in like 2 years. We went to the doctor thinking it was strep, and they said nope just an infection/cold. Poor kids.

At least it's a short-lived virus ... but the high fever stinks. Sorry that your DD missed the first two days of kindergarten, boooo!!!!
