Oh boooooooo and hissssss to that horrid woman. And HUGS to your family! The type of person who verbally goes at a kid like that is a very, very sad and pathetic person. So, so sorry that Ian was subjected to that.
Let's just hope that love and acceptance will prevail in the end. Meanwhile we'll have to do our best to spread the word and drum up more "Vote No" support!

Thanks Jodi. Some of the older kids at Ian's school made this today. He couldn't wait to take it out his backpack and show me, big smile on his face!

Just because she doesn't agree with Ian's shirt said, I don't think that she needs to be mean and rude to him and you. I think you handled the situation well, talking quietly and telling Ian you weren't sure what to do, and you decided with the series of questions how to procede, and helped/guided him thru.

outfrontmn.org/programs/avpWe reported this incident as well as some vandalism at our home to Outfront. Heard another story today about a teen being targeted on the road by men in another car, shouting homophobic things at him related to his vote no sticker, as they tried to run him off the road. The young man is actually heterosexual, but that's not the point I guess. As in other states where GLBT folks were targeted by ballot measures, it seems to be that the level of violence toward those who are GLBT, perceived to be, or who visibly are standing up for us is rising as election day gets closer. Please be careful everyone and please report any incidents so at least they can be tracked. It shows just one reason why targeting one segment of the population in this way is not just unjust, but downright dangerous.
