I joined MOPS this year and have volunteered to be part of the 'steering committee'. I wanted to let all the gals in the area know that we are one of the only evening MOPS groups (that I could find anyway). First, for those who don't know...here is an explanation of what MOPS is: MOPS stands for "Mothers of Preschoolers" - but don't let that confuse you. MOPS is about meeting the needs of every mom of a child from conception through kindergarten with local groups of moms just like you. Whether you're urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single or married, MOPS is for you! Come to our first welcome meeting on Monday, October 22nd at 6:45 p.m. We are currently meeting at the Central Lutheran Church in Elk River. We have many fun things planned for the year like speakers, parties, crafts and mainly making new friends and support people to add to our lives. I hope to see some smiling new faces! You can also check us out on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/115851868580/members/#!/groups/115851868580/

Two things I forgot:
1 - Childcare is offered. Please feel free to bring your little ones
2 - Don't forget to share the information with friends and families!
Thanks, ladies!!

Is this weekly? Does it really matter that I don't have any preschoolers anymore? What is the cost? Is it church oriented?
I can seriously walk there, it's in my backyard!

It is the 1st Monday of every month. I am unsure if being a mom of preschoolers is a requirement. I believe that any mom who wants to be a part, can. The cost is still up in the air, but there are also scholarships that are available. MOPS doesn't ever want cost to be an issue. It is a religious-based organization, so we do say an opening and closing prayer.

Thanks, but I don't think I'll be interested in a group like that.
