How do you handle your kids' Halloween loot? Let them have at it and eat whatever they want, whenever they want? Dole it out? Bring it to work or someplace to get rid of it? Eat it yourself? I'd love to hear about how you handle the treats of trick-or-treating at your house.

We don't trick or treat. We do go to Cub Foods and get their treats. I may actually hit up a trunk or treat this year, but it's so cold out this year.
From Cub, they get a goodie bag with a few candies, a chex mix type of thing and some toys, so it's not like they're all candied out. They were nice enough to share the candy that their Grandma gave them.

My kids tend to forget about there candy after a few days. Most of which my kids do not eat because of allergies or their ages, no dairy for one kid and both kids do not eat nuts. I get to take whatever I feel like taking, they get a few, we hold on to the rest until I toss it.

DS is only 4 so we hit about 8-10 townhomes near us and he is ready to go home so he doesn't get too much candy which is great. He is so excited this year for his Halloween parade and party at school.

The candy usually ends up being a treat after dinner. DH and I usually eat it too lol.

Ian can eat as much as he wants Halloween night. Then he can have a piece or two after dinner. He usually forgets about it after a few days. We throw out whatever is left when we clean out for Passover in the Spring.

My girls can only have 1 or 2 pieces Halloween night. Then the rest they usually have as an afternoon/after school snack. I also snitch out my faves but they are also good at sharing!

DS gets a couple pieces the night of halloween and then one piece a day after that until we throw it away.
