DS wanted to stay up but he goes to bed at 9:30 and I didn't know how late it would be. We told him if there was a clear winner within the next hour, we would come tell him. We got to tell him Obama won and he woke up to the news about the amendment. He was really excited as were we. Once they called Obama, we popped open a bottle of wine and cheersed! woo hoo!

I was asleep before 8:30. Apparently travel kicks my butt. Bunsette came in at midnight to let me know the results. She was too excited to wait until morning and SHE wanted to tell me rather than me see it on the news. Love that girl!

Yipee! Sharon how did Ian take the news? Congrats to your family. He was..he IS over the moon. I was frantically refreshing to Secretary of State page, and watching the precincts counted going up and the Yes votes going down. People on FB started giving up and going to bed and Kare 11 closed up shop. Tina also said we wouldn't know tonight, but I shook my head and said we would. I said that the numbers kept moving and that we were going to know. Around 1:30 it came across FB that an announcement was coming. ANd then AP announced we had WON! Tina and I leapt up and started cheering and crying and kissing and hugging. We were just overcome - and not quiet. And our house is small so Ian must have heard us. I said "We have to wake him up!" and a little voice from down the hall said "Wake who up?" We RAN to him and I said, "We WON! We won EVERYTHING!" and he jumped out of bed into our arms and we all cheered together! He was SO excited and we told him about both amendments, and the school levy and Obama. And he said "Amy?" and I said, yes her too! Hours ago! We came back out the living room and I had been texting with a friend before all this happened, and we were both saying we were hungry, having been up so late after dinner. My phone beeped and I read aloud that she texted she was having ice cream, and Ian said "can we have ice cream?" And I said, "YES WE CAN!" (not even noticing the Obama reference until it was already out of my mouth). So at 2 in the morning we sat and had ice cream and talked about our relief and joy. By 2:30 he was asleep in his bed again.

I have chills and tears (of joy!) as I read what transpired in your household Sharon. So happy for all of you, and our state and nation.

Sarah - hopefully now that it is over things can be less tense. It is hard when both people in a relationship fall on different sides of political issues.

I feel for you Sarah. That must be so hard. Tina and I certainly don't agree on everything, but we have also been a comfort to each other with most of the larger issues. I can't imagine not having that.

I am just glad it's over and now dispite everyone's opinions and feelings toward everything, we can all just move on... as a country. I feel like (as a country) we've become so divided and that can only be disasterous!
