I'm not really looking for advice on how to fix this, but just needed to put out there to someone that I am feeling overwhelmed. I guess really what I could use some positive vibes and support tossed my direction.
I am going on Day 9 of being "under the weather" health-wise. I felt much better at the end of last week but Sun I got knocked out by a bad cough and now it is just a general fog. I am exhausted but can't sleep, as I can't shut my brain off.
I started a new class for grad school tonight and realized that I totally missed that an assigned reading had 13 pages (it was a link to a website and I read the first page, not seeing there were more, the "next page icon" was tiny and in an upper corner). I am usually really thorough with things so this was unusual. I had to re-send an email attachment at work 4 times today, b/c every time I sent it I realized I had made an error. While sitting in class I realized I had forgotten to pay my Kohl's charge on the 10th which cost me $25 in a late fee. I am behind at work, home, etc. I am normally a very "on top of things" person, I keep a lot of things straight in my head and mostly at work do everything perfectly the first time and always complete my assigned readings for school. I also found out at noon today that I have to develop a new leadership training for Thursday morning at work. I think if I can get to Friday morning at work, I'll be okay as it is a slower day and then the weekend, but I hate feeling overwhelmed and out of control.
All of this is making me feel very discombobulated. I wrote out detailed to-do lists for home, work and school during class tonight (probably should have been paying attention), so hopefully if I just focus on crossing off tasks I'll feel better about things. I need to get healthy so I can get back on track. I have such little margin in my life for anything that getting sick throws my whole life off. And to add to my feeling in over my head, DS asked me today if I could stay home sick from school tonight because he misses me. ugh...mommy guilt too!
Thanks for listening.

I'm so sorry! One thing at a time sounds like a great plan and I hope by the weekend you feel better and can get some rest!

Hang in there, Debbie! All of us go through our funks. Look at all this wonderful information you have been cramming into your head. Eventually we run out of space until a back-up is done. I have found that to-do lists, date books and planners are my best friend. Lean on them when your brain is taking a 'brain break'. Sending tons of positive, healing, 'get better brain' vibes your way!

It will turn around for you. Remember sometime you just need a day to decompress and maybe that is what your body is telling you. Maybe you need to take a day and not think about anything. Curl up in front of the TV or read a book with no meaning.

Sorry you're feeling this way. I really hope you're able to find a little balance and peace. I know it seems impossible being that everything is a priority. I think Onlyoneboy has a good plan, maybe one day off will clear your head. Hugs!

Thinking about you, Deb. Can you ask DH to check anything off of your list? I know when I'm feeling overwhelmed it's because I feel like I have to do everything and in actuality, I don't. I'm married to a man who is more than happy to help me but for some reason can't read my mind! I know! Ask for help. You're a woman and it's hard to do that, but ask for help.
{{hugs to you}}

Oh honey! We've all been there at some point so you aren't alone in this! Just try to breathe deeply and relax, it'll clear your head a bit. Don't let yourself stress even more, it'll all work out and you just concentrate on getting better! (((HUGS)))

Thanks for the hugs and support.
My supervisor (also my good friend) brought me a giant cupcake and Diet Dr Pepper today and I just got off the phone w/ my mom. It always makes me feel better to talk to my mom. And DS made me a special picture at preschool.
I got my presentations ready for tomorrow for work and after DS's swim lessons tonight I am going to just chip away at my to do list in my sweats.

Ugh, we have all been THERE. Absolutely. I hate feeling that way, like everything is just jumbled in life and you can't keep anything straight.
Hang in there, and as you know it'll all get worked out with time. Take care of yourself and just listen to some music or veg for 10 minutes if you can!!
