Best BBQ Meatloaf... a Paula Deen recipe!! This has got to be the best tasting meatloaf I have ever had, and it's SO easy! Just gotta follow the recipe exactly! I left out the onions... so I can't say what it would taste like with them! Ingredients 1 1/2 pounds ground beef 1 cup fresh bread crumbs (i used italian bread crumbs) 1 onion, diced 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/2 teaspoon pepper 2 (8-ounce) cans tomato sauce 3 tablespoons vinegar 3 tablespoons brown sugar 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 1/2 cup water, to thin sauce if necessary Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Mix together the beef, bread crumbs, onion, egg, salt, pepper, and 1/2 cup of the tomato sauce. Form this mixture into a loaf ( I put it into a loaf pan first to mold it to the right size and thickness), and place it in a shallow pan. (I made the mistake of not using foil on the bottom.. I think I may have destroyed my baking pan).. Stir together the remaining tomato sauce, vinegar, sugar, mustard, Worcestershire and the water (if too thick). Pour this sauce over the meatloaf. Bake for 1 hour, basting every 15 minutes with the pan juices.

I'm totally making that this week. Apparently my parents bought part of a cow from a neighbor "up north" and brought down some ground beef for us. (So funny, gotta love it!) They warned me that the kids might not like it because it tastes stronger than normal beef -- these cows are happy, grass-fed, free-ranging type cattle that are more like family pets than livestock. Anyway ... I need some strong sauce or something to mask the flavor. But I do like the idea of eating healthier beef on the rare occasions we eat it.

My mom buys grass feed beef and it does taste a little stronger but it isn't bad. When she mixes it in with stuff I can't even tell

Oh good! I figured with this meat I just won't make burgers -- it'll just need to be something with a sauce or spice or whatever to kind of downplay the flavor a bit. But that's good to know, thanks Apryl!

This sounds good but basting every 15 minutes?!?!? Not sure I could do that. I've gotten too used to making my meatloaf in muffin tins in 30 minutes, LOL!
