Same here -- I wish I could help out but my kids don't have one! Could you look up reviews on Amazon or other websites for feedback before you buy it?

I haven't really heard of this one, but we just bought DD the innotab 2s. It has wifi and tons of games and apps and a rotating camera. Its $100, DD is getting it for her birthday

I did look at the reviews on amazon, but those can be so hit & miss. I've purchased other items that had great reviews on amazon and been really disappointed with the item.
I'll look into the innotab, thanks Kristin!

That's true ... on amazon you can have "love it!" and "hate it!" and such conflicting feedback it can be confusing. Sometimes for items I'll try Good Housekeeping or even kids' magazines to see if they rate an item I'm thinking of buying ... but again, sometimes they haven't rated the make or model you're interested in so that doesn't always work.

That's a good idea, I'll search on good housekeeping and see if they have anything. Thanks!

I like Consumer Reports but you usually have to pay for that and I'm just too cheap to do it!! If you want to you could check out Consumer Reports at the library ... Just brainstorming!!

I had never heard of it, but just looked it up. Our DS is a little younger than yours (he's 4) and DH and i have been looking at Innotab and Leappad and discussing. Looks like the Nabi has more capabilities and functions more similarly to an ipad than either Leappad or Innotab......so many choices!
Let us know if you find anything out about Nabi this is the first I had heard of it.

My mom actually has a consumer report membership, or whatever, so I could look at hers!
I hadn't heard of it either until DS aunt mentioned she was going to buy one for her DS for Christmas. Apparently it has a lot of apps that can be downloaded, and it can also be put into "mommy mode" so it can be used for internet, twitter, fb, etc. And I've heard it's pretty durable.. but I'm guessing the leappad and innotab are probably durable too.

I got him the Nabi for Christmas and he LOVES it. I was able to download the Amazon app store to download android apps. However, the apps that download with the Amazon app store are only available in 'Mommy Mode' so if he wants to play those games he has to be in Mommy Mode rather than the regular kids mode.
Amazon gives the option to require a password every time an app is purchased, however, for some reason on the tablet it overrides that. Fortunately I do get an e-mail every time an app is purchased and he's old enough to know he's not allowed to purchase any apps without my permission, and if he does, he's not allowed in Mommy Mode anymore.
Overall I'm pleased wih it.. it's also very durable and has a long battery life.

Thanks for the feedback!! I like that you can get the Amazon app store on it. Did you buy it online, or at a store?
