I posted this on FB, but maybe I can get more help here.....
DD had the stomach bug Tuesday, and now she won't eat, and hardly drinks anything..... She's basically had a handful of food in 2 days....and she's only interested in candy. ( that's not gonna fly)
any advice?

My advice she will eat when she is hungry, let it go and don't worry about it unless she gets lethargic. leave some fruit and crackers on the table, make meals like you normally do, only let her have water and she will eat when she wants it.

try making one of her fave foods or drinks and put them next to her but warn her that she can't have them for a certain amount of time--she may try them if she is not supposed to?

DD1 gets like that where she doesn't eat for a few days when she gets a bug. She will eat when she's hungry. I ask her every hour if she's hungry. I leave a bottle of ice water out for her which she loves when she is sick and have easy access to small snacks.

Try gatorade or gingerale or sprite. The gingerale or sprite might make her tummy feel better and the gatorade to get the electrolytes back into her. If her tummy hurts try bland foods such as: saltines or club crackers, toast w/ just butter on it, plain popcorn or dry cereal.

She'll eat when she's hungry and when her appetite returns. It usually takes a while after a stomach bug.

Keep her drinking juice, water, anything. Put out some favorite foods for her to munch if she feels like. She'll eat when she's hungry. If she doesn't eat for a WEEK, then you might have to start encouraging her.

Our doctor always says to try the BRAT diet after the stomach flu -- Bananas Rice Applesauce Toast -- so that's what we do at our house. My DD1 had the stomach flu on Thursday morning. When she was ready to eat that's what I offered her, and today as well, just to take it easy on her stomach and digestive system. Tomorrow I'll expand on that and let her eat more regularly.
