I've decided I need to have auto-start installed in my car. I can't handle waiting for my car to heat up so long, especially when I get off the bus at the park & ride!
Any suggestions on where to go? I'd like something affordable, but I'd rather pay more and go somewhere that will do a good job and not mess anything up.

Ohh I saw that! I tried to google reviews for that place but couldn't find anything... does anyone know if they do a good job?

Doesn't Target have an auto start for cars. I too wish I had auto start for my car even though I don't use it very often. IMO they are much needed this time of year (the auto start).

They might.. but I'd still need someone to install it for me. The main thing I'm concerned about is that they would mess up the electrical stuff in my car because I've heard it can be tricky

Buy the auto start and pay my DH to install it. He's installed a few of them at his work and for other friends.
DH charges $100.00 for install if you provide the unit.

I was going to suggest the Groupon thing. I see people all the time lean over to the windows and push that car button to start their cars before they even get off. I get picked up these days so my car is nice and toasty!

There should be reviews on their website or the deal site... or consumer reports

There aren't any on the deal or website.. I could try consumer reports but I don't have a membership so I'd have to wait to use my moms

Let me know what you go with Apryll - I'm looking for one too and I'm pretty sure we have the same car if I remember right...

We were going to get one for DS for Christmas. We talked to our mechanic and he strongly recommended against it. In order to install it, the electrical system has to be adapted and hacked. Anti-theft devices have to be rewired. He's seen it cause HUGE problems.
Systems that are integrated in the car when it is built are safe and problem-free for the most part.
We decided it wasn't worth messing with the car and potentially causing other issues.
Good luck.

He recommended against installing it yourself, or at all? What if I had a mechanic install it?

At all. It requires changing/adapting/rearranging the wiring system so it will no longer operate as originally designed. Anytime you mess with wiring, things can go funky. Lots of people do it though so it could be fine. Its just not a risk we were willing to take with DS's car--enough stuff goes wrong already!

Hmm.. that's kinda scary. My car is new-ish.. it's a 2008, but I think I have some issues with wiring already because my break light and airbag light will randomly turn on and off.
