I am new to the board and what attracted me to join is to find more things to do in our area and meet other moms. I have such a hard time finding fun things to do in this area. I am originally from California, so when we came out here entertainment and fun activities seemed lacking. I just wanted to say thanks for having an area to share fun things to do and such around this state. I look forward to reading about local events, reviews and all of that

Welcome to MoMs!
If you have questions about activities, things to do, etc. Make sure to post a thread, people will see it and be able to give you more specific ideas if you list area you live in and ages of kids.

Welcome, Dreamer!! I think it's especially important to find fun things to do in the WINTER!!! Otherwise you'll go BATTY!!! There are fun local activities that you can ask moms about, otherwise the "stand bys" for my family include the Minnesota Zoo, Como Zoo, Children's museum, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Edinborough indoor play area (it's a MASSIVE indoor play area, FABULOUS) in Edina. If you have slightly older kids, the Minneapolis Art Institute is FREE and fabulous. Ice skating is fun in the winter, either at Centennial Lakes in Edina or Rice Park in St. Paul, plus many smaller rinks in the local areas. There are lots of parks for winter exploring and good hills for sledding. Anyway -- let us know what questions you have because between all the moms there are MANY good resources and you can get the inside scoop!

Thanks. I didn't know anyone replied to my thread is there an email notification setting? My son loves winters and he is out ice fishing today with his dad. My daughter and I are not snow birds at all, or ice fishing gals, so we shop or stay inside. I tried to do indoor crafts with her but she gets frustrated even wrapping a present LOL. She is 13 going on 20. My son is 10. I am actually in WI but extremely close to Mn ( Woodburry/Taylor Falls depending on which direction we take).. I figured I am still close enough to some stuff on this board being we are neighbors, so I joined the board. We always go to the cities for different things...especially for good food choices!
