Today I went in and got my Implanton iud birth control taken out of my arm. I got it taken out because I don't really like how hormonal birth control reacts with my body. So my question is has anybody gotten the Essure done? How do you like it? Did you have any side effects? Any input would be awesome Thank you

Every once in a while someone asks this same question but I don't think that any of us ever get an affirmative answer! Lol! We are SUPER interested in the Essure procedure, though!

I hadn't heard of this. I'm very interested except for getting aunt flo back. I'm going to ask at my next appointment!

I had a friend of mine that had it done shortly after she had her second child. They wanted something permanent and their insurance covered it. She said it was very simple. 45 minutes in the doctors office, light anesthesia and out she went. She came over the same day. I don't remember her ever mentioning any side effects. Just that she loved it. I believe that once we are done having kids that this will be the route that I will go.

My co-worker had it done. She was in her late 20's and had 3 kids, she said it was so simple. She did it in the afternoon one day and was back to work the next. She said she would recommend it to anyone who is done having kids.

I have had Essure done-- little more involved that pap, but in and out and back at work the next day. You have to go back about 3 months after for quick (15 minute) appt to have dye test to make sure that tubes are blocked and you are good to go (during that 3 months you still need to use BC)

Essure is permanent but there are IUDs-- that are both hormonal and not hormonal
