Twin boys; One leaked all the time at night or long naps; Was critical for him that we used overight diapers (Pampers) making sure his penis was pointing down for night time AND if a really long nap as put to sleep late for a nap; He has a way longer penis; I'm not sure if that factors into it or not, but I think it doesn; Othe twin, just drinks less always and also a shorter penis that didn't flail all over in the diaper as the the other one and kinda just naturally points down; If the bigger twin that drank more as a rule (and continues to to this day even in his fully potty-trained state), started to leak even with all of the above, it was time to move to the next size Pampers Night-Time diaper. This was EVEN THOUGH he was nowhere near the weight recommended for the next size up nightime diaper. I talked to another friend who has a boy, as I had no experience with this night-time leaking before the twins as I only have a older girl who never leaked unless I put the diaper on crooked or something that was mother error on diaper application; She told me that boys do that, some more than others, and that she found that pointing penis down helped. For my big twin that's what I had to do when he was in diapers. Even though he is fully potty-trained now, if I forget to make him go to bathroom before bedtime when he drinks a whole lot more than is usual for him during the day, have to make him go 2 times before bed -- or he will have a giant wet bed. I just really think some boys pee a lot for some reason. Got one that does and one that doesn't. I hope that helps add to what everybody else already said: 1) Penis down; 2) Get next size up Night Time Diaper; 2) Pampers versus something else. Maybe you don't need all three things done as you are already doing some of them. Good Luck. I so do not miss the diaper stage. PS. I now have way more money too.

I echo others - we always went up a size when he leaked, even if he wasn't in that weight bracket and it worked. And like someone else said, we used Pampers b/c when we tried other brands they leaked.

Tried the double diaper last night, that didn't work. I really want to be able to use up the size 4's that I have. Unfortunatelly DS2's penis is so little we can't really position in to face any direction except at at 90 degree angle from his body. We might try to locate the diaper double things or just break down and go to size 5 overnights. To me it seems it might drown in the size 5 diapers since he only weights 21lbs. At this point he doesn't wake up because he leaked through so it's just a matter of us having to change the sheet on the crib every day. We just wash him up with a wash cloth, since I hate bathing the kids every day during the winter. It just dries out their skin to much and both my boys already have sensitive skin.
Well on to the next suggestion.

You could go to the size 5s and use the 4s for naps or just during the day so you don't waste them.

DD2 was only around 18-20 lbs when we went to size 5s overnight. Had no problems with her swimming in them (they did go a little past her belly button though) and they worked great.
