DS2 is almost 10 months old and he is leaking thru the Huggies size 4 overnights every night. Any suggestions? I'm thinking we should try double diapering with a regular size 3 and then the overnight size 4.
He wears size 3 diapers during the day.

Whenever DS had that problem, we always went up a size and it worked like a charm. I'm sure you already do this, but always make sure his penis is pointing down when putting the diaper on!

We always just went up a size too and it worked. We also limited the amount they drank after dinner.

I remember and don't miss that phase. Have you tried switching brands? I know I used cheap Target brand during the day and then bought the expensive overnights when that happened and it seemed to work. I also limited what he drank after dinner and always kept a leak pad on his crib, because changing clothes in the middle of the night was bad enough. I didn't want to do bedding, too. Good luck!

We used Pampers and had no problems, when we tried Huggies or Target brand, we had leaks.

They had awesome things called "diaper doublers" when my kids were little. I can't seem to find them online now though. They were like maxi pads without the no leak barrier. DS1 wet through EVERYTHING without them. Double diapering is probably your best bet. I think I read that if you do that, you should put a few holes in diaper #1 so it CAN leak into diaper #2.

That's a good idea, Bunsy. Maybe you could buy the pad inserts for cloth diapers and add them in the actual diapers?

I have a bunch of #4 overnights that I want to use up so I think I'll try the double diaper. Bunsy thanks for the tip on putting holes in the diaper so it can leak into the other one.
DS2 doesn't wake up due to leaking out of his diaper but I have to change the sheet in the crib every day, which means alot of laundry as I only have 4 crib sheets and don't want to buy more.
I can't really use a leak pad unless it was the same size as the crib since he moves around so much when he sleeps. He usually is a tummy sleeper as well so he would end up playing with the pad until he fell asleep, as we lay him down before he's alseep.
Thanks for all the tips ladies.

You can pick up leak sheet/pad things at Walmart. I have 2 different kinds for my kids, 1 is a twin size that fits his whole bed the other one is square/rectantle that you just put under the sheet. We used it first for the toddler bed and now it is on the other twin bed under the sheet. It is better to use one of those otherwise the bed starts to smell like pee too much.

Also, if you know more how he pees, a different diaper might help. I like Huggies diapers but I noticed if their is a massive flow of liquid Pampers works better, they soak up the liquid faster then huggies but they get soggy compaired to Huggies that get more stuff. I have a daycare kid that needs Pampers cuz she will hold it for hours then let it all go and will leak if she does not have them. I also found out that when my kid had constant liquid poo he needed the Pampers so he would not leak up his back. Otherwise we did the Huggies and just went up a size.

Right now we use either Target brand or Luvs during the day and Huggies Overnights at night. I'm not sure how he pees as the only time I've seen him pee is in the tub. And that isn't usually a huge amount. The crib mattress is all plastic/vinyl so I don't have to worry about it stinking as it's easy to wipe off.

I would think if you can use Luvs and Target Brand during the day and he doesn't pee through it you wouldn't need to switch to Pampers. To me it doesn't sound like it is a massive pee at 1 time.

Bunsy's right -- Working with people with disabilities who need adult briefs when we have to double up for some at night we do cut a hole in the one underneath, otherwise it doesn't work.

We used the diaper doublers (found at Babies R Us) as well for DD. We just now started to use the Huggies Overnites for DS as he was waking frequently with a soaked diaper.
