So, DD1 had her surgery today, everything went smoothly. It was funny, she fought the anesthesia, she sat up till the last possible moment. When we met up with her, she was rolling around in her bed trying to move around. Up until she saw the incision, she thought that they still needed to do the surgery. Later, she insisted that DH and I had to leave her with grandma and grandpa. She didn't care if we came back to see her. Visiting her is a little difficult because we cannot bring the DD2 into her room, too many germs.
Just thought I'd share.

She had a defective valve on her left kidney resulting in reflux. Basically, anytime she used the bathroom, a little bit would wash back into the kidney. We found out last year when she spent 3 days in the hospital due to a kidney infection. They thought she would grow out of it, which can happen, but it got worse instead. The procedure was called a reimplantation.

Best wishes -- my DD had the same procedure. We are so happy we had it done after over a year of one infection after another. Hopefully you will have quick recovery. It took almost a year post surgery for my DD kidneys to return to normal size --they were so sick and infected.
