Good Morning ladies! So, DD is 7 months old now and she is a wonderful little girl. But, we are having a slight issue. She had RSV for almost 2 weeks and it completely changed her sleeping habits. Normally, she goes down around 8 pm, wakes around 3 am for a bottle of breast milk (I exclusively pump) and then she's back to sleep until 7:30. Since she was sick, she is awake every 2 hours, and she wants a bottle each time! We give her a bottle right before bed too. And, we do co sleep. I was hoping to start transitioning to her crib, thinking she would sleep better, but she wakes up as soon as we lie her down or soon after. I'm not sure what to do anymore. We've hardly slept for weeks with her being sick, and now with this schedule I am just stumped! She's been a great sleeper since she was born! Also, we do not want to Cry it out. Any suggestions on how to get my princess sleeping better? I've noticed she is even more grumpy during the day because she isn't sleeping that well. Oh, she is teething too, which I absolutely think is related! She's cut 2 teeth in the last week alone! We also do a bedtime routine that is the exact same, at the same time every night! Thanks ladies

You have more than likely already tried this but, when she wakes at night try just rubbing her back until she falls back asleep.
I know we don't sleep well if DS2 is in the same room as he makes alot of noise and moves alot when he's sleeping. Maybe moving her to her own room will help. Until your comfortable you could take turns sleeping in her room with her so atleast one of you is getting some sleep.
What are you using to help her teeth? Teething tablets, Orajel?

Are you feeding her any food yet? Maybe the breast milk isn't filling her up and she's ready to start on a more advanced diet?

I was thinking the same thing as Gwen. Maybe after her being sick, her body is trying to catch up and she is needing more to eat/drink. Or she is going through a growth spurt and then teething on top of it. Maybe a nightly cereal feeding is needed? I remember my babies going through this, too. Hang in there! This too shall pass.

I agree with the other ladies about maybe needing more to eat and drink.
But DD1 went through this while teething. Up every hour and the minute you put her down she was up again. Once the teething was done with she was back to pretty much sleeping like normal. We were walking zombies during those months lol.

If she's not taking regular food yet you can add rice cereal to her bottle to thicken the breast milk and help fill her up. We had to do that with DS2. You add 1tsp of rice cereal for every ounce of milk.

Thanks ladies! She is eating solids! I should've added that in! She eats homemade purees about an hour before she falls asleep. We have not done rice cereal with all of the arsenic stuff going on with it, especially baby cereal having the highest content. I may do oatmeal cereal though! I have some in the pantry. Ill try that tonight with her dinner!!!

Oh, also we use hylands teething tablets for her teeth! When she gets super upset from them ill give her a tiny bit of Tylenol as recommended by her ped. We don't give Tylenol often.

The oatmeal cereal doesn't work very well as it clogs the nipples. You can get organic rice cereal.
We also use the Orajel Naturals teething getl and that works wonders. It taste like cloves so DS2 hates it but it works.

It's another one of those take it with a grain of salt type things. They haven't changed baby cereal in I don't know how many years. It hasn't hurt anyone up to this point. Testing is just better now days so they can detect smaller amounts of things.

I wouldn't recommend cereal in the bottle! I know for some babies with reflux it's good but most peds don't recommend it for just getting them to sleep longer. There are many studies that show it's not good for development and can lead to obesity.(what doesn't these days) If she is already eating solids I would just up how much you are giving her.

As far as sleeping inthe crib goes... when we transitioned we used an air purifier for noise and clean air... dark bumpers around the crib to make it feel more snuggly... the precious moments lullaby Cd (amazon, purplecase) and a wedge under the sheet. Oh and blackout curtains. Pres slept thru the night on his first night in the crib.
We use Hylands tabs too!
I never put cereal in bottles. Maybe just an extra serving of fruit or veggie in the evening would fill her up more.

Thanks ladies!
We won't put cereal in her bottle either. I've heard too much about it. Ill definitely up her food to start with! I'm on the hunt for a crib wedge! I think that would help her a lot! That's why we started co-sleeping. She was vomiting from reflux lying flat. I haven't seen them at target before. Do they have them? Maybe I'm looking in the wrong area? Ill check babies and wal mart online real quick before I head out!
Ladies, you are lifesavers! Hopefully this will help my princess sleep better!
