What does everyone do for their kiddos for Valentine's Day? Do you just do candy? Or do you do a small gift or basket? Special meal? Or is it just another day?

Just another day over here. I do think that if my older kid was not allergic to dairy I would get a small heart shaped box for each of the boys that had chocolate in it.

Just another day. I guess I made a heart shaped cake for dessert a couple times when the kids were small. No candy. No presents. No big deal.

We get Chinese take out I don't want to cook on Valentine's day and going out is a pain on so many levels, so that has become our family tradition. We usually get a special dessert or some chocolates to share as well.

Oh Chinese take out sounds like a fun and easy idea, Sharon. I used to do small gifts for the kids and some candy, but the more I think about it, the more I think it isn't necessary. Especially with their birthdays in February, too, it just seems like too much.

Usually candy and a small toy/stuffed animal.
I have also done heart shaped and pink/red colored foods/drinks in the past. It depends on my mood I guess.

We've gotten DS a small toy in the past. Not sure we'll do anything this year. His uncle (my brother) flies in that night so that should be present enough!

I think the kids are still too young... though its always been just another day in our family. I will probably do a vday craft with P this year.

A couple of years Ian has made little cards too, just a few to send people - grandma, his best friend, etc. It sort of depends on how close it comes to Purim on a given year too, since we do a fair amount of baking and putting together treat packages for that. This year Purim is a week after Valentine's day, so I'm guessing there won't be time or interest in making Valentine cards.

Just another day over here. I really can't stand V-Day actually!! DH's bday is the day after, so I'd much rather focus on that

Every year is different. DH and I will get them cards and maybe a small gift. I think that "Wreck it Ralph" is coming out on DVD so they might get that for the two of them. If I get my act together we'll have a yummy dessert that night ... but we don't do anything big.

I don't know what we will do when DD is older. For this year, we got her a Mickey Mouse book and small Stuffed Mickey.

Usually we just do a few peices of candy. This year I picked up small round laundry style baskets at the dollar store. I am going to fill it with red candy: Twizzlers, red hots, kit kats, etc. I was going to add a gift in it to. Maybe a shirt or something haven't decided yet.
