Hi ladies. We really need prayers. Yesterday, DD started rolling her eyes into the back of her head at our play date. At first, I thought she was being silly. Then I thought she was trying to look at the ceiling but couldn't tilt her head back. Well, after a few minutes she tilted her head back and looked at the ceiling. I started to get worried when she was tilting her head to the right, almost as if she was trying to look at me sideways. I called DH and rushed her to the emergency room. There was a 2 hour wait with about 20 people ahead of us. The guy checking us in asked what was going on. As I described he grabbed a phone and called the nurses in the back. I could hear her say we would have to wait. The guy said, the baby is 7 months old and we can't wake her up. Which was true, but she had just fallen asleep. She was stirring though. He asked how many times it had happened and I told him 8 in about 3 hours. He walked around the desk, and took us straight back. This is when I got nervous. We got to our room, and before I could even get Natalie's pants off, two nurses and a pediatric dr were in our room. They even brought a scale into our room instead of us going to one. There were monitors on her before I could even get her onesie off. Natalie woke up by this point. She was content and just watching the madness. I told the dr I may just be a panicked mommy, but she said with symptoms like that she would've done the same. She gave Natalie an exam as Natalie giggled at her. I started to feel like I brought my broken car in and it was fine. We all know how that works, right? Well, after a few the dr thought meningitis and started talking to me about a spinal tap. I broke into tears and asked if it could be anything else. She said seizures. Yep, seizures. I went to text DH and already had a text that he was on the way. The dr left to call a neurologist. I called DH in tears that they wanted to do a spinal tap. After a bit the dr came back. She said the neurologist was leaning towards seizures so we didn't have to do a spinal tap then. She gave us three options. 1. See the neuro Thursday for an EEG and MRI. 2. Start meds right away and then still see the neuro Thursday. 3. Be admitted to a hospital about 45 minutes away. The hospital we were at was full with flu patients as were the next 4 closest. St Luke's where they want us to go only had 2 beds open. The rest were filled with flu patients. She said she wouldn't send Natalie to be admitted because of the flu. If it were any other month she would've admitted her right away. Natalie had 3 more episodes there on monitors with no change. The dr said she thinks she will be okay at home. Just as we were getting ready to leave, our dr rushed in very happy. She said a tech was down the street and was going to stay late to do her EEG. He came in and said he didn't see anything huge, but couldn't tell us anything else. I'm calling here soon for our Thursday appt and to see if we have any results from her EEG. So we are home. DD is acting her normal self. I'm a slight wreck of emotions but holding it together. So, long story long (sorry about that!) we would appreciate any prayers. Prayers that Natalie doesn't have anymore episodes. Prayers that her EEG is normal. Prayers that our appt Thursday goes great. Prayers that if we need to do an MRI, DD will go under easily and come out easily. And most of all, prayers for my princess. Just prayers that she be healthy and all of this just be nothing. Please!! I am just a mess and will do anything for my baby to be okay. Thanks ladies!

I'm so sorry you had to go through that. It must be terrifying. I'll definitely be sending prayers to the big guy and lots and lots of positive thoughts. It sounds like your daughter is a champ though, giggling in the ER.

Thanks ladies. I appreciate it! Really really do.
Just spoke with the neuros office. We go at 1:30 on Thursday. The receptionist said the dr will call us today if he needs to speak with us right away about her. So, I'm hoping for no news today! No news is good news.

Both of my kids have Epilepsy (seizures). They both had MRI's before they had an EEG. It was likely that with my first kid having already been Diagnosts with Epilepsy that the symptoms that we seen in my second kid was also Epilepsy but they said they still had to rule out anything and had to do the MRI. Both kids did ok with the MRI, both had diffent meds to be put to sleep one was a faster wake up then the other one. They both did good, the little guy was waking up as they were pushing him out of the room that is how fast it was. Currently they are both doing EEGs 1 to 2 times a year. Meds have made a huge difference, you can tell my older child hasn't taken his meds because he has much more seizures. He still has a few while he has his meds constantly but nothing near as bad as when he does not take his meds.
Be strong, cry if you need too but know that the Neurology doctors are good at what they do. One med might not work and another one might need to be tried but you will find something that works. One thing that happens when my older kid has changed meds though the doctor say it has nothing to do with the meds (I think maybe it is just a change in ammune system) he gets sick and things that he was not sick with before, first he had a double ear infection in 1 ear, phenomia, wheezing, and strep throat. Nothing major it just happens to him each time (when my younger kid started meds he did not get sick).
