Langston put on his fall jacket this morning, but was freezing at the bus stop. When I drove passed a nearby bank, the temperature was 37degrees.
I have a tendency to overexaggerate....I remember when Langston was about 7 months old, I had him fully bundled in his snow suit when it hit 40 degrees. I keep the heat in my house at 75 degrees. I hate the cold.
I think that it is time for Winter Coats...but I don't want to be "that crazy Mom." Is it me....or is it time for the Winter Coat?!?

I don't think it is time for winter coats BUT that doesn't mean it isn't because I do not wear my winter coat unless it is under 10 degrees. My kid went to school today in a long sleeve shirt and a sweartshirt on top. I think it just depends on the child, ask him if he wants to wear his coat to school yet, or maybe put a sweatshirt with the fall coat.

I think that's a question only you can answer! I personally do not think it's cold enough for a winter jacket, but we are fairly warm blooded! We haven't turned our heat on yet, and won't for a while...if yall are cold then there's absolutely nothing wrong with putting on your coat!

For my kids NO-I think it depends on the child. Mine are both hot blooded- in fact this is the first day this school year that my 12 yo son wore long pants.

For DS, no. He gets really hot and sweats like crazy.
For me, yes. I've been wearing my winter jacket for like 2 months now (lol)

For DD1 she would be all about the winter coat when its this cold but DH bought her a nice warm fall coat that she loves and keeps her toasty. DD2 heats up easily so just a simple fleece jacket for her...I'm all about the sweatshirts until it hits the negatives!

Depends on the day. Yesterday since it was so windy out I did put dd's winter coat on while playing outside. If we are just getting in the van to go somewhere I will just put a sweatshirt on her.
For me, I will just wear a sweatshirt if I'm cold which probably won't happen for another month.

My DD was in a winter coat, hat and gloves this morning! She is only 18 months and we were driving her uncle to school, but she gets cold so quickly...

It really all depends. My DD gets hot really easily so all she needs right now is her fall fleece jacket. However, when it comes to her feet she needs to have socks and SHOES on. No more sandals or flip flops with this kinda wind chill thats been going on! For me, I'm allllll about my hoodies right now

maybe not winter coat but I tried to get my son to wear his fall coat today but he wanted to just have a sweatshirt. Hopefully he was warm enough! I did see a kid at the bus stop with flip flop on...

I plan to have my dd wear hers tomorrow. I think it is chilly enough in the am. for a winter coat.

Both of my kids had winter jackets on today. One kid at the bus stop was wearing a sweatshirt and shorts and was visibly shivering. In the mornings it is cold enough, I also made them wear knitted hats. I was in my winter jacket, unzipped, because it can take the bus 10-15 minutes from when we get out there. Now as to when I'll put my boots on rather than my sandals, that's a whole different topic.

I send my DD to school with a jacket that has two layers, that way she can add a layer if she gets cold or take one off if she gets hot. In the morning I think it's "winter coat" temps but if the sun comes out and the wind dies down, in the afternoon it can be (relatively) warm. So I do a lot of "start out with many layers, including hats and mitts" and then hope that my kid doesn't LOSE them all when she discards layers later in the day!!
And I crack up when I pass a bus stop -- some of the kids are wearing SHORTS and others are dressed for a trip to the Arctic. Love it!!

Winter coat, not just yet, but a medium weighted coat, I'd say yes. I work as the outside playground monitor at a school and although the kids are out there 15 minutes tops, we the monitors have to bundle up because we are out there for an hour at a time. We had a steady wind today in Central Minnesota, so it was chillier. Sadly most of kids today had no jackets at all and just short sleeve shirts a few were in shorts.

I made DS wear a fleece hat and mittens to daycare today and for outside play. He has a thick fleece coat too. I don't think it is time for a full winter coat....but hat and mittens in the morning when it is less than 40 is a good idea IMO. Also, our bodies are still struggling to adjust since it was 80 degrees last week and now in the 30's, that temp shift can be hard, I wore a scarf, cardigan and jacket most of the day today at work...I just couldn't get warm!
