Is this the pill that is given when someone is raped? What did they do in the past when someone underage was raped?

I'm not sure if this is the one or not Sharon. This is the one you take if you've had unprotected sex. The sooner you take it, the better. If you are already pregnant, it will NOT terminate or abort the pregnancy, nor will it cause any damages or complications. It simply prevents you from getting pregnant.

I think the one they give after rape might actually terminate a pregnancy is one is progress of starting. RU something maybe?
So yeah, i don't see why you want to not make it available to all ages. If a girl or woman has had unprotected sex and wants to prevent getting pregnant then to tell them they are too young to have this pill and should have an abortion later instead doesn't make sense.

The one thing that worries me about this is the younger ages like 11 to 14 maybe 15 where sex is not consensual. Could a sex abuser use this drug to hide the molestation?
I'm not saying that using this hopefully rare circumstance to completely stop the availability of the drug. Shouldn't there be some kind of deterrent to this? I have no idea what that would be though.
It sounds as if this drug could prevent a lot of unwanted pregnancies and abortions.

I think this is a good thing and will probably prevent some unwanted pregnancies which may have led to abortion.
As with anything it is best if teenage girls have a trusted adult in who they can have discussions about sexuality, safe sex practices and risks/benefits of drugs like this. But I am well aware that this doesn't always happen and teenagers are going to have sex and not talk to their parents or adult about this. Having sex is a big commitment but teenagers and even many adults don't see it that way, there are lots of things to be concerned with in even consensual sex like STDs and pregnancy and then there is always the concern of sexual assault and rape. I don't think this drug being available will change any of that, but it might prevent some unwanted pregnancies from happening.

I think it is a good idea. Better to let the girl take a pill then have a baby she isn't ready for.

Agreed with the others who say I'd rather see girls buy the pill than end up having an abortion or a baby they aren't ready for.
