Where can I find a Picnic Basket that will not cost an arm and a leg?

You want traditional wicker? How big? What is your price point? I see lots at BBB website and World Market website.

I only need one because the 4 yr old says we need one to have a picnic and he was all excited talking about it so I want to get one for us to use. Big enough to fit food for 4 so it doesn't have to be huge. We do not need plates and cups to go with it, it does not have to be wicker, I just didn't want to take a reuseable shopping bag again.

I like the one from world market but I doubt I could get my husband to pick it up for me today. I will see if he can run to BBB when he gets home from work.
Thanks Bunsy!

You could check the thrift stores in your area too!

I saw some backpack style ones on Walmart.com that weren't to bad in price. This was a long time ago though so IDK.

I am needing it for tonight. Nothing like last minute, he woke up this morning asking for a picnic and telling me we needed a basket and a blanket and he was trying to figure out what blanket to take.

Do you have any baskets laying around the house? You could put a table cloth in it, put the food in it and then fold the tablecloth (towel, sheets, pillowcase, etc.) over the food. Might be good enough for tonite and give you more time to search?

We have a picnic basket that was a wedding gift to us all those years ago (almost 13). We didn't register for it but I adore it. It has a bunch of sturdy plastic plates, silverware, glasses, table cloth etc. inside it and is super cute. We don't use it that often, but I must say it's great to have a bona fide picnic basket when you want to have a true picnic!

Renee- my mom and I used to always give them as Wedding presents! Such a unique idea and fun to put together too.

Lil, I was just thinking that I should keep that in mind for upcoming weddings. Picnic baskets last ages and are a fun, unique gift.

Goodwill! or Salvation Army. Someplace like that. Kids do love picnics, I don't know what it is about eating outside!

I will have to look around for one too, I am looking forward to picnics this summer. My parents still have their basket they got for their wedding 35+ years ago.

We got 2 for our wedding almost 10 years ago. We gave one to my mom, and kept the other. Have not had the opportunity or desire to use it. It may be fun to to use it with the kids someday....
