My husband has a chance to relocate to the Denver area. Does anyone have an advice on where to live? I have a son who will be in 10th, a daughter in 2nd grade and a daughter going to Kindergarten. I want to find a good school district to live in. We will be moving away from both our families and I know it will be hard to tell them. So any advice would be helpful!! Thanks

I have family that lives in Englewood. Two high school friends(with young kids) live in Parker. Another friend lives in Castle Rock. As far as I know these are all very nice places to live and raise a family.

Hi! We're in Highlands Ranch which is a great suburb of Denver. We're in Douglas county for schools which are extremely well rated. I would also suggest Parker! So beautiful and a little more of a country feel. Depending on where you/DH may work I can give you more suggestions. Personally, I'd stay away from aurora. There are also certain areas that aren't good. Aurora public schools are not very great either.
Cherry creek schools are awesome! And, like I said, Douglas county is wonderful. We live about a mile from a grocery store, gas station and a good selection of restaurants. Our neighborhood is right by a nice park and its very quiet.
And, I love Colorado weather! Changes often but there isn't humidity here and we have sunlight 360 days a year.
Let me know what area you may be looking at and I can help better!

I agree with Lil as well!!
We live just north of castle rock. Great outlets there for shopping! We also go to church in castle rock. Oh, Castle Pines is beautiful too!
Englewood is really nice and close to us too!

The only job we know of right now is my husbands and we will be working from home, so we can go anywhere. Right now I have my own childcare, but I won't be doing that when we move. I will be looking for work and might not be able to find a job until we get there. I have a background in childcare. My husband has not gotten the job, he is just applying for it. He wants to make sure we would want to move before he apply.
I am just nervous about moving the whole family and then not liking it. We own 2 houses right now, so then they would both have to go up for sale. I know the one we live in will sell fast, because it is the one that is in a good area with great schools. WE moved in it because of the schools and the community. Our other house is a rental and we hope that we can break even, because it is in an area that isn't popular.
I love MN, but it would be a fun change. I just can't live somewhere without snow, I love winter. My kids play hockey and we love hockey!! I also am scarred to leave my friends we do have, because I am closer to them then my family. I just hope to make new Friends to be able to hangout and do family events with. t

Colorado is so beautiful!!! We definitely get snow and Denver is only about an hour from great ski resorts. We go to Vail and Breckenridge a good amount in winter! I don't ski but my husband does.
The weather and view are my favorite things. I look out my window and see the Rocky Mountains every day. So beautiful here!
I would recommend the southern Denver metro area, which are the places I mentioned. Houses aren't too pricey out here. It may be worth it, If you're able to, to fly out and check things out. I'd be happy to show you around!

Thanks!! I think he is going to try for the job. We wanted to make sure it would be something we could do before he tried. I will keep you posted and let you know what happens.
