I was just wondering if any of you know of any open positions. I'm not very picky but I do need to make enough money to pay the bills. Ideally I'm looking for administrative work (not much experience however), I want a new career path. I'm very honest and hardworking and have a great work ethic. Let me know!

Samantha, did you quit the grooming business? I know you were stressing about it.

The only places I've worked in the past 10 years are day treatment facilities and group homes for adults and adolescents with developmental disabilities... if you are looking for a rewarding day job, a day treatment is a great job. I worked for merrick Inc but Phoenix is another that is local to white bear lake and vadnais heights
Good luck!

I'm going to school for nursing in the fall of 2014 so I would prefer something in patient care or in a medical environment. Grooming is just really physical and harder now that I'm pregnant and its not my life goal so I feel like I need to get the ball rolling on my future.

I've decided to go to nursing school next year too! i've been in healthcare for 13 years, but just not as an RN. I'm pregnant too - right now studying for the CNA test this summer, so after I have the baby in Sept I plan on finding a new job as a CNA to get some of that experience for my resume. That would be my advice for you. There are CNA courses at community colleges (which are like $600 usually) then the CNA test is $160. I plan on skipping the course and studying on my own and try to test out. You have 3 chances to pass the written test and skills.

I just took my CNA test out on Monday (I took the class and test 2 years ago but it expired) The written test is really common sense. The skills aren't hard but you need to make sure you know the critical steps. There are some great training videos on you tube. You can also get a handbook on what they test on at any community college that offers the classes/tests.

I just landed a new job after being laid off two weeks ago! I used www.indeed.com and had a TON of interviews from it. I did spent a LOT of time filling out applications but was pleased to see that there were so many options open for an administrative field. Good luck, you can do it!

I love indeed.com! I've applied at about 12 jobs now and have had 1 interview... I'm feeling kind of disheartened and worried. I'm starting to look into different kinds of work like retail and home care for elderly folks I'm just worried I won't make enough money or I"ll be bad at it... But I need a change in career..
