Has anyone ever done this? My dad is gonna be in town in July, and every time he comes I always make him his favorite meatloaf. However, this requires the oven being on for at least an hour, and when you live on the top floor of an apartment complex...yeah it gets a little toasty to say the least!!
I was thinking of just throwing it in the crock pot, early in the morning and seeing what happens..
Have you ever cooked a meatloaf in the crock pot? How did it turn out?

I haven't but I've seen a pinterest recipe for it.... i would only be concerned that it would dry out.

Thanks for the link hun! I think my CP is too small too. I wonder if you could just stick the loaf in without the pan? I would do a trial run, but I don't wanna waste money on the groceries if it doesn't turn out LOL!

YES I've done it and my DH loves it. It turns out surprisingly well--not dry at all. Here's the recipe we use:
Crock Pot Meat Loaf
1 large onion, chopped 1 bell pepper, chopped 2 eggs beaten ¾ cup of milk ¾ cup dry bread crumbs or cracker crumbs 1 envelope Lipton Onion Soup mix 2-3 pounds of ground beef
Line Crock Pot with foil. Mix together the eggs, milk, crumbs, and soup mix. Add the meat, onion, and peppers, and mix well. Shape into a loaf and put into the crock pot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. If you like, two hours before eating you can put Ketchup on the top of the loaf.

I love the bbq meatloaf posted in recipes... wonder if.... Lol I may have to try it. If it ends up too dry I'll chop it up and use it for tacos or something

Yes, I've made meatloaf in a crockpot and it has turned out great. I usually spray my crockpot with cooking spray never tried using foil. My kids love it.

I do my meatloaf in muffin tins! Only takes about 30 minutes instead of a whole hour or more.
