What are your plans? Any favorite traditions? What are your favorite fireworks viewing spots?

probably just a picnic at the inlaws.. I'm hoping for nice weather so we can set up the little pool and sprinkler. We also bought a bean bag toss game this weekend and can't wait to play! There are fireworks set off in Maplewood just up the road from me, so we can usually see them from our front porch, but this year I really want to go up to the st. johns hospital parking lot to get a better view and take some pictures!

No plans this year. We typically go the fireworks here in town. We skipped last year--I think it was really hot. It takes forever to get home after the fireworks because they are done in a land-locked area and the congestion is nuts.
We'lll just have to see what happens this year.

We are going to the Twins game....just bought tix last night.
Usually we go to the in-laws cabin during the day and my aunt and uncle's at night. This year with MIL being sick they aren't doing the cabin. I don't think we are going to my aunt and uncle's because we just saw everyone at my cousin's grad party. So most likely just a day for the 3 of us. We may swing up to see MIL if she is up to it for a bit.

Sounds like fun! I have to ask DH if he wants the kids to take part in a 4th of July parade or not -- in Excelsior they have a kiddie parade and the kids decorate their bikes, wagons, dogs etc. and have a little parade. I think maybe we'll just watch this year. Then we have a pool party to go to at a family friend's house in the afternoon, that's always fun. If our neighbors are home that night we'll watch fireworks from their deck. Their house is on a big hill behind ours and from their deck you can see in the distance about 5 towns' fireworks (all different directions). You can't hear the music but you get a great view.

We have a neighbourhood celebrating. There is a kid parade, and party. They had a petting zoo, face painting, free food, and other stuff. In the evening they have a fireworks display. All less than a mile away.

Dh wants to go to St Paul to watch the fireworks with the orchestra. of course, the orchestra is on strike AND the fireworks aren't at the capitol like they were 20 years ago. Silly man. I sure hope he does his own research cuz I don't want to drive to St Paul to sit and stare at each other!
