I am trying to plan food for our trip...
My thoughts as of right now is to premake chicken breasts and slice them up. Also have cold sandwiches. We will be staying somewhere where there is a microwave, fridge. Fridge isn't very big. So what kind of meals would you make for a one week trip. Yes, we are going to eat out, but we don't want to eat out the whole time.
I am looking for ideas of what would you bring for food or make for meals.
Thanks much.

Growing up we did barely ate out even when traveling here is what we ate:
Breakfast: Mini cereal boxes Apples Bananas And small container of milk for hotel fridge
Lunch: lunchmeat peanut butter & Jelly yogurt (you could buy go-gurt and freeze it) pasta salad

I am banking on the motel has the breakfasty stuff. If not then we will go to the grocery store. We will do cold sandwiches for lunches. The cold chicken for supper.

when we travel and only have a microwave we bring easy mac, ham, pb&j and tortilla shells or hard rolls (we find they don't smush as easily as regular bread), baked beans and hotdogs... if you are bringing cooked chicken you could shred it and put it in the tortilla too with some bbq sauce, potato salad, tacos... (you'd have to cook the meat with the seasoning ahead of time) then warm it in the microwave, with the tortilla shells or hard shells and maybe bring some shredded cheese and black olives or something... good for lunch, or dinner.

you could also get ham steak slices and microwave mashed potatoes, and canned green beans... that would be yummy too!

Don't forget dishes and utensils. Cooking in water glasses isn't fun!

Ive actually heard of people bringing small crockpots with them for trips that are a week or more... but you'd have to check with the motel manager first to make sure it's ok to keep plugged in.

I have brought my crockpot to cook hot dogs. I also make mini muffins for snacks. You can cook some ground beef to reheat in the crockpot for tacos.

We have also done hot dogs, baked beans, tortilla chips and dip/salsa, donuts for breakfast, frozen burritos, and tacos. You can also make and bring snack stuff like banana bread and cookies.
