Seriously no joke....I have constantly had the feeling of having food stuck in the bottom of my throat for 3 months now. Sometimes it goes away but for the most part it is here to stay. I was just assuming it is acid reflux? Anyone else get this? I was doing some research and I am concerned it might be a bit more than just acid reflux. I am scared to go in... I feel like my gastroenterolgist thinks I am crazy already...I don't want to add one more thing to the list I have had.

My great aunt had some kind of condition that caused her esopagous to have little "hooks" in it that caused all the food to catch in there and not go to her stomach properly. They ended up in the er and took out a Thanksgiving dinner from the tube. It was like it turned into velcro and caught on everything she ate. Weird, but uncommon condition, especially in anyone young, she was 79 when that happened.
I'd go to the doctor and tell him/her your concerns and see if it's something serious, and even acid refulx can be serious.

Go see your GI Doctor. You will need to get a biopsy done of your Esophagus. Do you have any of the symptoms of this? www.medicinenet.com/eosinophilic_esophagitis/article.htmI have Acid Reflux as well as Eosinophilic Esophagitis. I see Dr. Liveringhouse in CentraCare in St. Cloud. I've had pills get stuck in my throat and certain foods. My Esophagus closes and doesn't allow food to go down, therefore I need to regurgitate it up. Sorry for the TMI, I had this for years and just thought I was eating too fast or whatever, then got a pill stuck in my throat for several house, went to the ER and they did an Emergency Endoscopy and did a Biopsy and said I have this disorder. It happens when I eat certain starchy foods and such. I also have a large amount of food allergies and environmental allergies as well. PM me if you want more details.

But with Acid Reflux and the Esophagitus issue I have, I constantly feel like I've got 'junk' like congestion in my throat and it is the acid stuff. Do you take meds for your acid reflux? Does this happen more often after eating certain foods?

Well I don't normally have trouble swallowing and I can eat with the stuck food or whatever in my mouth no problem. It occurs after eating anything really or even drinking. I might end up calling tomorrow to schedule an appt.

Take a flashlight and look down your throat. Are your tonsils 'holey'? Or do you see white spots? I have tonsil stones in my throat. They can easily be removed (I do it myself with a q-tip). They are basically bits of bacteria, food particles, build up (just like on your teeth) but they build up on your tonsils. I get sore throats a lot and it always feels like there is food stuck. I have seen my primary M.D and they referred me to a ENT to have my tonsils out.
