So..I have two about to be 4 year olds that really love to sing and dance. I think they would both be very excited to learn to play an instrument or take singing lessons. They seem to be really good at picking up lyrics and melody. Anyone have any recommnedations on when to start with music lessons and where to look for them? I have not seen anything in community ed/ parks and rec. We are doing gymnastics rather than dance right now but will probably do a dance class next year.

I don't really get my daughter singing lessons per se. The church we go to has choir for the pre kindergarten group as well as all the ages She is learning to sing now while having fun at it

Hi Sarastwins. I think you could find out about various music lesson opportunities via the local schools' music teachers--they might not teach themselves but are probably familiar with those who do. I would go to your nearest elementary school, contact the music teacher there, and ask for recommendations. There are various music lessons around the Metro area if you live in the Twin Cities. For example, the church I go to has an "Academy of Music" and they have teachers of various instruments, including voice, and teach all ages from young children to adults. www.mountcalvary.org/pages.asp?pageid=65017 Also, a local music store would probably have a list of teachers. So those are my ideas!! Good luck!
