I wonder if they will just be replacing the buckles or the whole thing.

That's scary.. ever since the I heard the news of the girl who went in the pond with all those children in her car I get anxiety when thinking about getting in an emergency situation and not being able to get DS out fast enough.

Per one of the people I supervise who called Graco, it is just an issue with the harness latch and they are replacing just the belt and latch.
According to the Graco website there have been 80 complaints, which considering it listed about 10 types of seats built in a 4 year span of time, doesn't really seem that much. Ours have been fine (we have 2 Nautilis). I'll get new straps, but sometimes I think before people worry too much we need to examine the scope of the problem.
Also- it's probably a good idea to have seatbelt cutters in every car anyway. In our company we do in all our vehicles we transport our residents in so we could cut them out of their wheelchair if necessary.

I've always had trouble with the buckle and latch in our nautilus... I thought it was because of the tendonitis in my wrist lol Sometimes I have to put ALL my weight into it to get it to click then struggle with the button occasionally to release. The website now has the instruction on how to get a new buckle. It sounds like it may be more of one of those recalls where if yours is not working then get a new one, but if it's fine after cleaning it, then leave it... at least that's what I got from their letter. I'll be getting a new one just because I travel a lot and it'll make it easier on my wrists.
I have always wanted to get seatbelt cutters and a glass shatterer for my car... I can never find them in regular stores though... maybe I'm looking in the wrong place! Maybe autozone..

I think I will have 1 car seat that will be on the recall and not the other one. I have 2 different Natalius car seats. My younger kids seat is a pay to unbuckle some times where I have had to use my keys to help push the button in and try to open in.
