Are you watching the Olympics? What do you think so far?

I've caught some evening coverage the last couple of nights. I love the Olympics, but work and life have prevented me from really getting into them this year.
I have been concerned about the conditions of the snow for the skiing and snowboarding. It looks to icy and it was clear in the half-pipe last night that the conditions were poor. I just hope people don't get hurt.
My favorite to watch thus far has been luge, super happy for the American woman who won bronze yesterday.
What I love about the Olympics are the people who come in 8th or 13th with a huge smile on their face....sometimes the people at the top have so much pressure that if they don't medal or they get silver instead of gold, they are crushed or are too full of themselves. The people who are happy to be there, competing and giving it their all, whether they reach the podium or not, those are the Olympics to me.

Have been watching some. DD1 and I really love the 15 yr old Russian skater Yulia! Her spinning is amazing. We watched hockey for the first time this morning. Everything else we watch when we can...I have been falling asleep while it's on....I don't like the time difference..oh well!

Yes, I've been trying to watch a bit here and there as time allows. Usually at night I'll see what's been DVRed and then scan through, watching bits and pieces here and there. Although I enjoy pretty much any event, a few of my favorites include snowboarding (half pipe and freestyle) and skiing freestyle -- I can't get over the amazing stunts they can do!

Ive been trying to watch it every night when the kids go to bed. I love the new slopestyle and the luge, bobsleds and skeleton racing. I am actually excited to watch some curling too! Usually I love all of it, but I've been disappointed with the Olympics as a whole I think... Sochi missed a few things when preparing for sure!! The snow and ice... the hotels and roads.
I do think security has been awesome though.. any sign of a threat has been taken care of immediately.
I'll continue to watch but I don't have high hopes for the rest of it!

I've been watching bits and pieces. I don't really plan ahead to catch specific events.

I've been watching bits and pieces. A co-worker showed me a sad article yesterday about the tech. guy who was responsible for the olympic ring that didn't work properly during the opening ceremonies. He was murdered in his hotel room and the lead investigator is calling it accidental, saying he must have slipped on kitchen knives. Ridiculous and really left a bad taste in my mouth.

That was a hoax!
I'm not as impressed by the games this year as I have been in the past. I usually love watching them and get pretty excited for all the competitions no matter what the sport. I do love hockey so maybe that will make me more hyped up.
I feel the unseasonably warm temps are ruining the competitions! 60 degrees today!!!!

Yes Sarah -- that article about the opening ceremonies engineer was on the Daily Currant which is a satirical website like The Onion or New Yorker(not to be confused with The New Yorker). Sometimes those articles seem real, but be assured that didn't actually happen.

I haven't seen anything. I don't plan to either. Just not my thing.
