We had a sickly bug if you will in our house since overnight on Sunday. Everyone is better except now dd is still complaining of an owie tummy. I think she is constipated. Yesterday she cried a couple times b4 school and saying yesterday & today I don't want to go to school b/c of my tummy.
She was sick w/ throwing up 1X, cough, no appetitie.
I've given her carrots, applesauce, go gurt. How can I get her tummy back to normal? She is drinking...no probably not enough. Sleeping good since Monday night.
I don't like it when she doesn't have her complete happy self.
Thanks.

Popcorn usually works if DD is constipated. It might just take time for things to get back to normal. I think they make kid probiotics too that might help get her belly back on track.
Good luck.

Definitely make sure she is hydrated and drinking enough water. When DS is constipated we give him kiwi or pears.

I second the hydration-- you can give her fiber, but if not enough liquid, then it basically becomes a brink. DD always had issues when she was younger. Talked to doctor and she said OTC laxative (can't remember which right now) and script for stool softener unti she become more regular, but she had issues on and off for several years. Since she has vomited make sure about getting her liquids in her.

Yogurt. Our ped always recommends yogurt for tummy trouble of any kid. She always says just to make sure to get the real yogurt, with the active cultures, not the ones that are sometimes marketed for kids that are mostly sugar and have no live cultures. The cultures help the digestives system get back it's healthy bacteria and start digesting better.
