I'll send some of ours to you Bunsy!
DD was diagnosed with a very very severe case of anemia Thursday. She's borderline needing a transfusion so we have been home a lot. She's very tired and weak. She went down hill so fast. Her pediatrician said it's a good thing I followed my gut instinct or she likely would've passed away in the next few days. Mommy guilt to a whole new level.
It's supposed to be 50 degrees today. Pretty cool compared to recent days.

Poor baby! Poor mommy! Do they know what caused that?

Based off how her red blood cells look, they think it's genetic. I am getting tested this week at the recommendation of her pediatrician. She said I looked pale and weak, and it's true I've been feeling really off for months.
It will take 3-4 months for her to fully recover. She will be 2 in June but I have faith she will be playing with her friends at her birthday! She's on liquid iron 3 times per day.

I hope everything works out well for you and the baby.
Woke up a little extra early as DD has assignment from 3 weeks ago that is due and just started at 6pm last night. I knew she a to make a catapult I kept asking for assignment sheet to see specifics. "You can go look in my (messy) bag" was the best I got. She is in 6th grade in middle school. Turns out not only did she have to build a ctapult, she had to do and experiment with 4 variables and do a large tri-fold presesentation and speech. Sheet states due at 7:30am Tuesday, but last night she was telling us that the teacher told her it had to be turned in today. She gathered data last night, I printed out and made graph and chart (required) for tri-fold. She also needs at least 3 photos too.

Ballerina- hope you and your DD get well soon. Will be thinking of you and sending healing vibes!
Deanne - That's not fun. I hope you can find something to help get your DD on the right track with assignments.
I am feeling kind of foggy from allergy meds, not sure if I want to keep taking them or suffer the other symptoms. Tonight I have to work on a volunteer project I committed to after DS goes to bed, hope it goes smoothly.

Can you take the allergy meds at night Debbie? DS said yesterday that the singulair seems to make him sleepy. "Maybe that's why it says take at bed time." Brilliant boy.

It's non-drowsy, I could try at night, but I need to function during the day....such a hard toss-up. Hoping this season passes quickly and my trip to Oregon next week provides some respite.

Hi Ladies!
WOW Ballerina, that is S C A R Y!!! So glad you listened to your gut--oh my goodness … I had no idea that was even a genetic issue. Hang in there and hope she recovers soon and that they find answers for you too.
Deanne, hang in there -- and will someone please tell me how to get my third grader to stay on top of her homework? It's ridiculous -- this is the first year where we don't have a communication sheet with the teacher. DD is supposed to keep track of it on her own but things are slipping through the cracks. Part of me wants her to have a consequence of forgetting but I don't want her to miss out on vital learning either. Sigh ...
