Drizzly day. I like it! Bunsette leaves tonite for her train ride adventure to Minot ND. I don't know if she's nervous, but I feel a little unsure!

Oh, fun.
Bunsy - The St. Croix Railroad is not associated with the one in Osceola. SCRR is a miniature railroad that runs 3 different scale sized trains. It's a railroading club that we belong to. We managed to wear both boys out after running trains for over 8 hours on Saturday.

Ah, gotcha. I hadn't heard of that one. Of course, we are a bit removed from our heavy train years! (Except for DH of course).
We finally have dates for our fall/winter adventure. DH and I will be living in Bethesda Maryland for 3 weeks in December taking care of our friend's 11 year old daughter. Thankfully, he will be gone the entire time. She's not too hard to handle unless Dad is around. She seems to have to perform for him.

Fun, is this the same girl you went to Europe for?
You never grow too old for trains. After driving one this weekend I now know why DS1 loves it so much.

Hi ladies! Busy day for me today. I end about 9p, hoping to squeeze a walk in between things this evening.
Gwen - the pics you had on FB looked like fun.
Bunsy - is this the little girl you went to help in London before? That should be a good break.

It is the little girl we took care of in London. Dad is retiring at the end of December probably--definitely transferring back to the States anyway. She wants to do her last year of elementary school back 'home'. So, he's going to commute. 3 weeks in London, 2 in Maryland is the plan. Her aunt is going to care for her Sep, Oct & Nov.
DH drove the streetcar at Lake Harriet for many years. He loved it and the kids loved riding with daddy.

Fun, that is one thing we haven't done yet, but, want to do this summer.
Hopefully we find more time to do things this summer than we did last summer.

We went on the Lake Harriet streetcar last summer....it was fun. My friend's DS is obsessed and they have an annual pass.
Hopefully the transition back to the states goes well for them. I am jealous that you will get to explore DC. I want to go there so much.
We got the word that our car issue DH discovered Sat will cost us $1200 --- yikes! I suggested that DH could bike everywhere and then he reminded me that he doesn't have a bike....oh well.
My FB newsfeed is filled with baby announcements, new babies and pregnant bellies today....something is in the water.

I know how you feel Gwen -- it is so hard to fit all the summer fun in.

Como-Harriet Streetcar is a nice weekend afternoon adventure or evening trip. The ride isn't very long but then a walk over to the lake for ice cream makes for a perfect experience.

Car = tierods and wheel bearings. Ugh....the hard part is that starting in 2 weeks we have summer daycare to pay for. Guess this means no vacations Bunsy - that is exactly what we did with the Harriet streetcar. Rode the train, fed the ducks, ate ice cream, played at the park. It was great.
