I am having a Surprise Party for my dh. He had one for me in May. The party for him is in Nov. I love hosting parties, but how do you put on a surprise party? I told people & sent out the invites. In my head I am trying to figure out what I am going to have for food.
Reason for both of these parties b/c we both turn 40 this year.
Need ideas of how to throw a Surprise party.
Thanks.

Sounds fun, Jodi! I've never hosted/had a surprise party but I've been to a few. I'd say make sure you have a plan of who will be bringing him home, or coming home with him so you have a heads up and everyone can get ready.
Basic party foods should be fine, since it will be in November I'd say crockpot foods (BBQ meatballs, little weenies, or even sloppy joes) and rolls, mini sandwiches, cheese & crackers, etc.
I went to a surprise party for a friends 40th and they had small pieces of pape and pens and had everyone write down something they liked, or a funny memory about the person and put them all in a jar for her to read later - I thought that was a cool idea.
Good luck!
