Good afternoon ladies!
Hard to believe that it is the last day of June. Time continues to fly by.
I am trying to have a more relaxed work pace in July....cross your fingers for me, June was out of control!

Fingers crossed for you!! I spent a couple hours this morning finishing some cleaning at DS1's old apartment. He got most of it done yesterday but ran out of steam and strength in his injured ankle (which he never had treated medically, dopey boy). Then I helped DS2 & DH (I held doors) move a bunch of old equipment out of our church. The interim minister is cleaning house! Apparently, DH's name came up as the "get things done" man.

Bunsy - That's nice that you were able to help out!
Happy belated birthday to your kids! Bet it's hard for you to believe that they are 21.
You would be proud of me. I was supposed to have a volunteer committee meeting in DT St. paul, but the only 2 of us who can make it live in the suburbs next to each other so I invited her to my house and I'm not cleaning it first.

It's very weird to have them be 21. DD is enrolled in her classes for the fall - 10 credits/3 classes. A good start for her. She'll also still have time to help out her current family on long weekends for nannying. DS2 is scheduled for orientation in July and registration. I sure wish he was all taken care of too.
Life is happening.....

Good for your DD --- glad that she has figured out what she wants to do. Hope that DS2 gets all his things set up.
My dad pulled off the retirement party surprise for my mom which was fun. My aunt and uncle and cousin and her boyfriend all said goodbye and left and we were all packed up and then my mom's friends started arriving and she was genuinely surprised and very happy. Her church also threw a wonderful retirement potluck. I am so glad my brother was able to come home from Oregon for this weekend. DS had a great time with his cousins, and they will be together again next weekend when my parents take them for "grandparent camp".

Surprises are awesome. It is so fun when they don't have a clue.

I think my favorite part was when my aunt and uncle came back (they had left to pick up the food for the party) and she was so shocked b/c she was convinced they had driven back to the cities.
All of the people my dad invited were able to make it too, so that was even better. I am so happy that she is able to retire and have more time for her, my dad, traveling and grandkids. As a pastor she has given so much of herself to so many other people over the years.

Hey Ladies.
Bunsy, wow that would be hard to sink in … 21! Such a milestone.
Deb, that is awesome for your mom. I'm glad she got a happy surprise and is able to see some thanks for her years of sacrifice. Being a pastor has got to be one of the most difficult jobs on the PLANET. I don't think I could ever handle it!! Awesome that she'll now have some time for her own self!

We had a fun family get together Saturday through Monday. Kind of a bummer that it was SOOO windy, we could hardly be on the lake it was crazy gusting constantly. But it was great to see my family, hang out, have some time to relax and play board games and chill. I ate WAY too much and am not looking forward to work tomorrow since I'll be behind (being gone today/Monday) but ah well! Thankfully it's a short week ahead, yay! (Although I need to pack a LOT into those three days. I'll try not to dwell on that.)
I'm glad that I"m finally feeling pretty healthy and can get life back to NORMAL. Hallelujah!

Renee - glad you are feeling healthy, that makes a huge difference.
I hear you on the packing everything into a short week. Originally I took today off, but when some plans changed and we needed to get my brother back for his flight home I decided to work and get caught up, I am not there yet (or even close) but making plans to get caught up this month.
Anyone have good date ideas for Sat & Sunday? DS is going to my parents house with his cousins until Tuesday and DH and I want to do some fun things around the cities.
