Hi ladies! I was up early this morning transporting my mom and her husband to the State Fair. A huge downpour just hit here. I hope they stick close to buildings so they can stay dry. The DH can't move very fast so there is no running for cover!

Good morning! Yikes, I am near the State Fair at work and it is pouring here. Hope they don't mind being wet!
We have a fun-filled weekend planned. Tonight we'll go out to dinner to celebrate end of summer as a family. Tomorrow DS goes to his grandparents and DH and I have tickets to Book of Mormon and then dinner at the Melting Pot (I won a $100 gift card to there!), Sunday is supposed to be State Fair fun with a group of friends. We have back up plans if it storms to go to dinner and play Cards Against Humanity. Monday DS will come back and I'll do some work/get ready for school for DS.

I'm hoping they stuck close to shelter and planned ahead. Oh well. They haven't been for several years. I borrowed a walker for the husband and he seemed excited to be walking faster with some support. They had an umbrella but I don't think that would have helped the way it was pouring a bit ago. I feel bad that they ended up going the one bad weather day but you can never depend on weather.
Sounds like a fabulous weekend! I heard Book of Mormon was fantastic.
We are planning a fair visit tomorrow with Bunsette. Other than that, I have no plans for the rest of the weekend. Maybe something exciting will come up!

We have to get DS new velcro shoes. I failed and didn't focus enough this summer on teaching him to tie his own shoes. He has destroyed his velcro shoes, so off to Famous Footwear for their BOGO sale.

Just like most kids don't go to kindergarten in diapers, most kids don't go to college unable to tie shoes.

DD2 learned how to tie her shoes this summer(she's a first grader) but isn't ready to do it at school yet. She says she isn't fast enough. I told her just keep practicing and she'll get there! I found a much easier way to teach tying shoes on Pinterest, took her about 10 minutes to get it down! I'll have to post it later.
