Well, it's here. How was your commute?
We're SORT of ready for the snow. The snowblower is out, no gas yet though. I found brushes for the cars but the scrapers are broken off of them. So, I need some scrapers for back-up.

Hi Bunsy! My commute was slow but not horrible. There was one spot where a light I normally get right through took about 10 minutes with the backed up traffic, but other than that it was slow and steady.
DD1 loves snow and joyfully looked out the window this morning -- so funny to see how the kids react. Mine are THRILLED!!
My snow scraper's in the back seat so I'm set! Snow blower is ready to go at home too.

Sleeting here now. Gonna be messy BUT that means fewer inches of snow. DD was my PT support today in case I needed a ride home (dizzy issues). I felt fine but she shared with me she thinks she has a UTI or something. She's given it a week to hope it goes away! Silly girl. Off to the doctor for us this afternoon. She's 21. Wants company.

Did not love the icy roads this afternoon/evening. I traveled at off times so it wasn't so bad. Continued stress at work, something's gotta give, but not sure what can. For now I am skipping book club this week.
Bunsy - sorry your DD isn't feeling well.

DD has today off school so she can chill. Turns out she probably has a tiny kidney stone. She hasn't gotten her xray report yet. Poor kid. No where near as much pain as the one she had 5 years ago though so that's good.

Bunsy, sorry to hear that your DD may have a kidney stone! Yikes! Deb, hang in there with work stress. Sorry to hear it's immensely stressful. It does seem like work piles on and on until there's unfortunately a breaking point. When it's not a sustainable workload it's impossible to keep up with everything. Today's ok .., I just got assigned to a webinar that starts before my kids go to school so I need to figure that out - between DH & BFF I think I'll have morning coverage ... Juggle juggle juggle!!

Today flew by. That's my one consolation having a pretty stressful, intense job - I blink and it's after 5. Now if only my computer hadn't just crashed ...
Sigh ..,

Bummer on the computer crashing!
Leaving work in a minute to get my hair cut/highlighted. Not sure how I want it to look -- just not like it does now I guess. I am not a huge fan of how it's been lately.
I am hoping to map out my next few weeks of work tonight/tomorrow morning. I need to get a handle on what needs to be done and a plan to get it accomplished. I am not taking 2 days off the week of Thanksgiving. I am planning to work on Sunday and Friday (or maybe Sunday & Saturday) to take off Thanksgiving day and maybe Friday.

Thank goodness for holidays. Since I began this job as a temp, didn't officially start til September AND my vacation time doesn't start to accumulate for 3 months I have zero paid vacation. Any time I take off for kids' school, funeral, meeting etc. I have to work extra at night or in the morning. So I could really use a couple of days right now for family and to have a mental break.

Do you get Thanksgiving and Friday off?

Yikes Renee! That is a long time to wait for a day off. Hope you get Thurs & Fri off.
The nice thing is that I have to work 5 days in a week, but it doesn't have to be Mon-Fri so I can work the week of Thanksgiving Sun-Wed, take Thurs off for Thanksgiving and then work on either Friday or Saturday (from home). The bummer is I have so much to do that I have to do that.

So I have an odd scenario. You know how on FB you can see posts that your FB friends comment or like, well often the people I supervise are friends with some of my work friends and so I see their posts. I like all the people I supervise but am not friends with them on FB.
Do I pretend I can't see their posts? Should I say something? No posts have been inappropriate, more things I would comment on in a conversation to be helpful (like where's the best place to buy such and such), but I don't want them to think I am FB stalking. I am aware they can probably see all my things too. It's just weird lines and boundaries and not knowing how to navigate.

Thankfully I do get Thanksgiving and the following day off. I am in dire, dire need of some space away from the office!!
Hmmm Deb that is kind of an odd situation. I guess you could just mention it if it happens to come up naturally in conversation. As in they're talking and you add, "Yes, that's funny - you must be friends with so-and-so because X popped up on my Facebook feed," or something so they know that you can see some of their posts. That way they can edit what they comment or post or change their settings!!
Bunsy, what do you think?

I think the work/personal boundaries could get very tricky. I have no clue to the solution.

It's just odd, there are some boundaries I have and some I don't when it comes to outside of work stuff. Some of my closest friends in the cities are from work, I'm even a part of some secret FB groups for the sites I supervise and with my co-workers, so often we are really involved in each other's lives. We've all been through a lot together and I know their kids and sometimes their spouses, it's hard when the lines start to blur.
Speaking of work - today I had an appreciation day for the people I supervise, I made them brunch (egg bake, caramel rolls and fruit) and bought gifts. They seemed to like it.
Tomorrow I'm helping in DS classroom for an hour with reading. Wish me luck.
