Ugh. Making myself spin in circles. I keep thinking of all the things I need to do before DH and I leave for Maryland for 3 weeks. But most of it can't be done until the last few days - stocking stuff for the kids, animals, paying bills, making business deposits. I need to calm down and clean my house. That can be done anytime but I don't wanna do it!

That's how I felt last night. So overwhelmed with all the work and household things I need to get done before we head to Disney. I hope I can relax when we get there and actually have fun. Trying to take things one step at a time.
Working from home today until about 4:30 and then I have to head in for evening meetings. My brother and I drove to visit our grandma and aunt in LaCrosse on Saturday with the kids. Overall a good visit, only a few inappropriate comments from grandma (who also does not want to be referred to as Great Grandma by her great grandkids, she says it means she's old - she turned 87 last week, she is old). The drive home wasn't so fun, but we made it safe and the kids had fun.

I love old people who refuse to admit they are old!
We got 1/2 of our garage cleaned (reorganized really) in 20 minutes this afternoon. The car that we were taking to a mechanic wouldn't start and needed to get in the warm garage for a while. I guess we work best in crisis! Got it started, delivered to a mechanic's house in New Hope. Then we dropped another car off at Midas to get the exhaust looked at. We want the kids to be in safe cars while we're out of town.

Good work! Yes, definitely it can help to get things going and before you know it it's done. Unfortunately my work project did not go that way today.
I need to go change out of comfy clothes and in to work clothes.

Hi Ladies! Hope your week is going better. I've had morning meetings every day this week - so extra long workdays which gets tiring. Ah well thankfully it's temporary.
DDs bdays are coming up so I have planning to do. This year we're having it off site so it's more expensive but hopefully less work in the end! Their bdays are close together so we're doing a combined party for the first time ever. We'll see how it goes -- so far they love the idea. As DD1 gets older she won't want to do it again so I am guessing this year is our only chance! (She's turning 10, DD2 7.)

Renee - good luck in the party planning, hope all goes well. An expensive month for you with 2 birthdays and Christmas.
DS and I went to JoAnn Fabrics today and got materials to make fleece tie blankets for my niece and nephews for Christmas. Also going to order personalized placemats from Shutterfly for them I think.
Tonight is my only night home this week, lots of late night staff meetings and then Friday I have plans to volunteer and then hang out with some friends. This weekend is cleaning and more work.

Thanks, Deb! December is very pricey but oh well!! I'm really excited because I just found out that my 14YO niece is giving one of her American Girl dolls to DD2 for her bday. Yay!! That'll save us $$ -- plus DD2 rarely plays with dolls so it's hard to justify spending the money if she's not a "dolls" kid. So this seems perfect. Hang in there with the late nights working ... That makes for a looooong day.

TGIF!!
Any fun weekend plans?
Here, just errands, oil change, run around, hopefully do some fun stuff with the kids. My parents will be in town on Sunday so we'll get to see them, that'll be fun!
DD1 has a friend over to play until the kids have swimming lessons tonight. I'm done with work for the day and it's like ... WOW. I have an hour to myself! That hasn't happened since I don't know when. Glorious.

Hmmmm. Weekend plans. DH is behind on in words for his NaNoWriMo project (National Novel Writing Month). The goal is to write 50,000 words. But, of course, work got busy this week and his writing time got cut short. He's writing all day today and plans to write all day tomorrow. So, he'll be hunkered down in his office.
I think DD and I will put the Christmas tree up tomorrow. DH and I leave for 3 weeks right after Thanksgiving so it's now or probably never. DD would NOT acccept never.

Making good progress on my work project over the weekend. Found some cheap summer clothes for Disney (less than $5 total for a pair of knee length shorts and capri length jeans), got my dad his birthday present, found new tennis shoes.
Today we had breakfast at my aunt and uncles. Then DH and my uncle went to the Packers/Vikings game, DS and I went to church and then I cleaned my house to have co-workers over and got a couple of bugs up my butt and cleaned the windows (a once a year occurrence in this house) and updated the display for DS artwork. Back to work now.
