My mom is coming out to visit Dec 7-13, and I want to take her to some Christmasy or holiday things around the cities. Two years ago we went to the Elf display at macy's so I'm a little disappointed that it is going to be the same one this year...
We'll def. go to MOA as it is always beautiful around the holidays, but any other suggestions of things you've done as a family or places you've gone?
Thanks!!

I think Kare 11 and other news stations will list top houses for Christmas lights. Bunker Park in Andover has horse drawn sleigh rides in the winter and bonfire afterwards. North Heights Lutheran Church in Arden Hills has an amazing Christmas play that they do every year. Tickets I think are around $15 nhlc.org/578822.ihtml According to their website the tickets sold out by Nov 15th last year. I was bummed last year when the elf display at Macy's was the same as the previous year....not fun at all. If I think of anything else I'll let you know!

Guthrie Theater (A Christmas Carol); Stages Theater (A Silent Night for Peef)-- for all ages; Roseville outdoor skating arena (if you like to skate); Phalen Park (Holiday lights in the park) -- not sure when they start though.

Every year I make some homemade hot chocolate (I melt Dove dark chocolates and whisk into half-and-half) as a special treat, the DDs get to have candy canes or another treat, and we drive around and look at all of the houses decorated for Christmas and listen to Christmas carols. It is SOOO much fun. I think you can go ice skating in downtown St. Paul's Rice Park, which has a bunch of white twinkling lights and is festive at night.
