sorry... Id be pissed if he were my relative... relieved, but PISSED. WHY go that long w/o telling anyone that you are alive and making people think you were killed by a serial killer? I don't get it.

That's weird... I don't get why he wouldn't say anything. Why he would mess with his families emotions like that. Kinda messed up!

I'm sorry but this story is kind of disgusting. I mean it is great that he is alive and didn't fall victim to some physco and his family now has piece of mind but why wouldn't you contact your family in that long and at the very least let them know you are safe and well. Kinda makes me sick to my stomach to know this family was in such pain and agony thinking he was murdered all these years.

I agree with everyone else. Why in The world wouldn't he at least get ahold of someone and say hey, I'm alive just leave me alone for awhile?

If I were his family I would be pissed after the relief went away. I know he said he didn't get along with his parents, but at least let your siblings know you're okay even if you don't want to talk to them.

This is such a weird story....there has to be more behind it about why he didn't contact his family don't you think?

very true isis! I just kept reading this story though and thinking....it just doesn't make sense. I cannot even fathom not contacting my family for 34+ years.

Oh, here I thought it was the parents he hadn't contacted in that long. It's not unusual for a sibling not to want to talk to their siblings for the rest of their lives if that sibling feels left out of everything or made fun of by the other siblings. Not everyone gets along with each other to call up their siblings on a regular basis. Not as weird as everyone is thinking.

This just reminds me of me asking, "How many people do you think took advantage of the 9/11 attacks to "disappear?" I'm guessing that there has to be at least one person out there that didnt' really die that day but that family members think did. The biggest question would be, will it ever be discovered? Who knows why people do crazy stuff like that? But people do and it happens all of the time. Just usually not on such a national level...

It may not be odd for a sibling to not call their other siblings but it is odd that he would let them believe he was dead for all those years.
