I will be continuing to pray for this sweet girl. She is a miracle and her life is valuable even if insurance doesn't see it that way, there are many of us who have not even met her that know she is precious little one.
If she is off breathing assistance and such is there anything they are doing in the hospital that can't be done at home? I am just thinking it might be nice for her family to have her home if that is at all possible?
There is a little boy whose blog I read regularly and his mom and his story was just featured on national news. Many of the comments were people asking why the mom is torturing her son by keeping him alive. He is breathing on his own and her response was the same as yours, "what am I supposed to do, starve him? not treat his infections?" I am sorry for all the ignorant people out there when someone is caring for such a precious child and doing all they can to keep them safe and comfortable. A feeding tube is not "extreme" or "optional" in my opinion. I work with people with disabilities, many of whom require feeding tubes and I believe each of them to be valuable.

Update - Baby Maddy had surgery a week or two ago and here is the latest update from my cousin. Madelyn is 6 months old tomorrow. Her recovery from surgery is going well and she is now over 9 lbs and 21 in. She failed her initial hearing test when she was born but it was recently re-done and she has hearing in her right ear! She continues to be known at the hospital as a miracle baby - she is doing things they can not explain medically. I am sure she will continue to amaze us going forward. Thanks to all for the prayers and support - it has definitely helped! Thank you all again for your continued thoughts and prayers.

Sorry it has been awhile since I posted but I wanted to say thank you to all of you for your continued prayers for Maddie.
Maddie turned 1 a couple of weeks ago. Just amazing considering all the times they said she has turned for the worse and didn't expect her to survive. She is truly an amazing gift from God and she is here to serve a purpose. She is developmentally at about the 6 month mark and sat up by herself for the first time about a month ago. Her smile is amazing.
Thanks again for all of your prayers they are definitely working

AS - I'm good, the kids are all good. I can't believe the twins are 1 already.
I just don't have as much time to post as I used to. I miss everyone and am trying to make a better attempt at getting on to post. It is getting a little easier now that the kids are a little more independent.
