My husband and I are starting to feel age catching up with us. This friday dh gets to have a leg abrasion done. He's had leg issues for a few years now and I'm concerned about him having to have surgery for his bad circulation. It's amazing that doctors don't catch these things quicker, he's complained about this issue for at least the last 5 years. I'm concerned that they ask for a living will for him to have a procedure done. We don't have one and are just hoping that this goes well. Burning the veins isn't a fun procedure to do, but hopefully the dr knows what (s)he's doing.
First, I ask for your thoughts or prayers that this will go well for him. Second, do you have a living will? What does it cover? Do you need a lawyer to fill one out?

Wow, prayers to you and DH, Cake. You'll need them during recovery!
I don't have a living will. How interesting that they would ask you for one BEFORE the surgery. Scary too!

Maybe it's just standard procedure. It's at the vascular center in Coon Rapids. My grandma had one at the end of her life (living will) so the dr's knew she didn't want to be revived.

That question is on the checklist they go through for anything these days. Perfectly healthy MIL was asked that by every doctor she saw during her hospital stay. Kind of makes you think.
Since your DH isn't chronically or terminally ill, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If they ask him if he wants to be revived if something goes wrong, his answer will stand in that situation.

I have a living will. It's standard anytime you have to go into a hospital to have a procedure done. I had major surgery a year and a half ago and made sure I had one before going in.
