I am thinking about having the birthday party for the boys at home this year, actually I think I might have to have 2 parties because the 5 yr old wants to invite all his school friends and, my thought why not. So 1 party will be a duo party, debating about having that at our house too but we might just end up doing McD's again. The school party would be at our house though, I can not find a place to have a party that can handle all the kids without taking all of my money. So I need ideas of things to do in the middle of the winter for indoors, I have a smaller house so it can't be huge stuff but we still want to have fun. I am planning/hoping to make a sliding path in our backyard for some outside fun. Any other ideas?

couple of games that need circle time , telephone, and passing an orange under their chins from one to another. The there's the clothespin drop from the back of a chair into a bucket, and the egg on a spoon relay race.. I've also seen people use a ping pong ball for this..

We have thrown small friends-parties the past two years at home and will do it again this Saturday, Charlie will turn 6. So I have been looking up more game ideas incase it's not warm enough outside to do sack races, balloon relays, etc. My favorite game we had for our sons 4th birthday is the donut game. He loved it, and his friends that year were older and they enjoyed it as well. All the adults laughed so much.... RULES This simple eating contest is both fun and filling! Each child should be provided with one ring-shaped donut. Tie the donuts with a string and hang from a pole at an appropriate height for the children. All strings can be lengthened or shortened depending on the height of the child participating. The donuts should be held at a height based on children standing up, or on knees but not in a seated position. Children are required to stand or kneel in front of each of their donuts and put their hands behind their backs. On the word “Go!”, children will race to eat their donut first using only their mouths. With the donuts tied to a string and swinging with each bite, this will be difficult for them to accomplish. The first child to eat their donut off of the string wins this eating contest This next one was a hit with our four year old and the three older boys, we paired them up and had a race to see which one could wrap his buddy up the fastest with a roll of toilet paper. The younger ones had to wrap the older ones. Toilet Paper Wrap - adjust according to how many kids you have... 5 players stand in a huddle. Player #6 has a roll of toilet paper. Player #6 has to run around the group of 5, wrapping them in toilet paper. The first team to finish the roll of toilet paper wins! Game is played boys vs. girls. Play upbeat, energetic music while game is played. The music starts on "Go" and stops when a team wins. Encourage kids to cheer loudly for their team! This is a good time to hand out incentives too! Bump Relay - adjust according to how many kids you have... You will need 10 chairs for each team. Choose 10 girls and 10 guys. If you have a group of about 30 kids, divide the group in half, and allow everyone to play. Put the 10 chairs side by side in a line. Each player sits on a chair. On "Go", the first player jumps up, runs behind the row of chairs, and sits on the last seat. Everyone must bump over one seat in order for the last one to become vacant. Then the next person does the same thing, until everyone is in their original seat that they started in. Play upbeat, energetic music while the game is being played. The music starts on "Go" and stops when someone wins. Encourage kids to cheer loudly for their team. This is a good time to hand out incentives! Will anyone be there to help you? Maybe you could do a carnival type of set up? 3 or 4 stations with games. Maybe something as simple as picking a rubber ducky from a plastic tub filled with water that has a number on it for some simple prizes? Pin the tail on the donkey, hot potato.
Maybe for some outdoor fun you could do some food coloring and water and put in water bottles for coloring in the snow?
