I'm curious, when do you shop for Christmas/Hanukkah/your winter holiday? Do you mostly shop on line or hit stores in person? Are you Black Friday experts?
My DH and I are going to have a date night (starting in the afternoon) in a couple of weeks to try to get the bulk of our Christmas shopping completed. Last year we had planned this type of outing in December and there was a huge blizzard, the stores all closed early and it totally messed up our plans. So this year we're buying in November.
Both of my DDs want American Girl dolls ($$ YIKES $$) so apparently we'll be heading to the MOA. I normally wouldn't spend that amount but this is the second year they asked for an AG item, we didn't get them last year, and this is the ONLY thing each kid has specifically requested. So they'll get an America Girl doll but not much else!

And I apologize for talking about holiday shopping ALREADY but it's on my mind because this year we're heading out to shop earlier than normal. My apologies to those of you who don't even want to THINK about it yet!!!

I do all of the above, LOL! I scored some deals online and in stores already. I will head out for Black Friday if some deals look super good.

I try to do it ALL on Black Friday but a lot of times I end up doing it last minute. I know what we are getting everyone this year and the majority of it I have to do online.

I try to pick up stuff throughout the year (easier on pocketbook), maybe later in the day on Black Friday (1-3 pm) or whenever I can get away without the kids. I usually do online stuff for nieces and nephews out of state or further away.

My old way was to do the shopping in Sept, October, or November, whichever month I got an "extra" paycheck. (On a weekly pay, four months a year, I get five paychecks in a month).
My new way is I do a newsletter for my company and I get an extra pay check in very early december, so I have been going then.

I don't really shop online. We're hoping to do Black Friday this year id DH doesn't have to work. Otherwise it's just in store here and there. I'm hoping to have all shopping done BEFORE December gets here.... we shall see...

I used to start shopping in like June or July, buy clearance items when I saw them...things I know DD would like, etc. But now...ugh...I wait til the last second. I shouldn't but it just seems to be happening that way the last few years.

I start with the after christmas sales, then start again in october or so when I start seeing good sales. I have a birthday girl to buy for in november too. The black friday sales just don't look good enough for me to fight the crowds and many times those sales were cheaper months before.

I started in Sept this year. I need to start early to afford it. I'm about halfway through my list - but have the difficult people left and also my hubby and kids. I have gifts to send to MAssachussetts to my in-laws so I need to get those done early. I like to send those boxes the 1st weekend of December so I can go with the cheapest shipping possible. I never to Black Friday, but that's because I spend Thanksgiving up in Northern WI and there aren't any stores closer than 1.5 hours away worth going to. My mother and I are going shopping this weekend so I hope to get lots more done!
