With DD3 I have been EBF except for when I have no expressed milk and need to be away from her, then I have used formula.
Is it okay to use different brands of formula since she maybe gets formula once a month?
I got some free samples and great coupons to get 4 oz nursers or 4 oz packets for a really good deal. Of course they are all different brands. I remember being told with DD1 to pick a brand and stick with it cuz it could hurt their tummies!
Thank Ladies!

They SAY that you shouldn't switch or do it gradually.... my kids were never that fussy eaters sooo... I nursed when I could (at home really) and pumped when I went back to work, however never was able to produce enough soooo daycare had to supplement and did half and half most of the time(half BM (breast milk--- that looked weird with just BM)) and half formula. I have switched brands, and eventually after DS was on solid food too, would use the samples from various places that did not need measuring when we went places whenwas no longer nursing but he was under a year old)
I think you know your kids and should try what you feel is best.

I was always told also to stick with one brand for that reason.. tummy troubles. If it were me I wouldn't, but if you think your dd would do fine with it, try it a little!

I don't think it would matter if she's only having it a couple times a month. Her tummy probably won't remember what she drank 2 weeks ago.

DS was fine with me switching brands, but he hasn't ever had a sensitive tummy.

Wow! I am surprised that people were told not to switch with otherwise healthy kids. I know that some children have issues with digestion and require certain brands of formula. But our doctor actually told us to use generic and not waste our money and if we had free samples or were at a different store that mixing wouldn't make a difference....she was right for our DS. I EBF and pumped for the first 3 months when I went back to work he BF in the morning and at night and had formula during the day. Our first time trying a different formula was a result of going on vacation and leaving the canister of formula by the garage door....we felt horrible and spent a fortune at the resort town grocery store on formula.
I would try it and if she doesn't react well, then worry about staying with the same formula.

I think you would be ok changing, especially given how infrequently she will be getting it. Our kids were formula-fed only, and had one specific kind they could tolerate.
