We will be buying convertable car seats soon. I'm looking for suggestions on more compact seats. We have an SUV and I have to fit 3 car seats across the back seat. Thanks!

Sunshine Kids Radian is a great seat, and you'll probably need at least one of your seats to be a Radian in order to fit 3 across. Stay away from Graco MyRide, only because it's pretty wide. What seats are they in and how big are they? I love www.car-seat.org/ for these questions - they know everything! Rachel

Not sure the age of your kids, but if you rear face the one who sits in the middle, it will help with the space I think.

sharon, this is from the bottom of her siggy line: "Mom to DS born 5/23/09 and DD/DS born 6/2/11" So, I would think she may need two rear facing seats for the twins born on 6/2/11, and not sure about the 2.5 year old, depending on size & weight if he needs to be rear-facing too.

Thanks I missed that. Yeah, they should all be rear facing most likely.

Thanks for all the replies! I'll have to check out that website. We have a Gracco MyRide for my son who's 2 1/2, but we moved that to my husband's truck since it's so wide. The big thing is finding more compact seats that are also reasonably priced since we need to buy 4 of them!

You can go to BabysRUs and try out seats in your car. Then you can see which ones fit. You don't have to buy them there but then you will have an idea what seats to purchase!

Will they actually let you take the seats out to your car to test them?

I'm pretty sure! I remember someone posting about it on MLM. You could call ahead just to make sure.

Okay this is from Andiemarie.....Go to the customer service desk and ask an associate to help you with it. They will ask for your Drivers License or they will send an associate out with you to ensure that you don't run off with the car seat. All of the models on the shelves as real working car seats so you can pick any one of them!

I use to work at Babies R Us, this is a common problem and the sale associates at BRU should be able to help you find the perfect car seats for you and your family. You don't need to buy them there, but they often have coupons for 20% off of one item, so you might be able to get a good deal on them too.

Thanks! We do have to buy 4 of them, so I was going to try to wait for one of those 20% off coupons.
